Trevor Bachman: Songs of A Brave Soldier is a musical chronicle of truth. Wielding music as a storytelling force, this evening of rock, soul, and classical styles is a sampling of two original musicals (Pyre Cantata and Coromandel), as well as brand new songs. Bachman is an indie music theatre composer/lyricist with an eclectic sound, fusing tight harmonies, soulful grooves and addicting melodies, creating an emotional theatrical experience. Featuring some of today's most exciting performers, Bachman's sound will arouse an audience who is yearning for a new wave of musical theatre. Trevor Bachman is a New York City-based composer, musical director, and actor. Trevor's original compositional work includes Coromandel, a new musical for children and adults based on the poetry of Edward Lear, and Pyre Cantata, a new opera based on the Oedipus and Antigone stories.

From the funk/rock styling of Betty Davis to New Contemporary Musical Theatre, Ariana has time and time again shown the world her versatility not only as a performer, but as interpreter of story whether through music or dance. Seen on Season Six of So You Think You Can Dance, Ariana has performed around the country and here in New York with performers like Neil Patrick Harris and Anika Noni Rose.

Fresh off recording their first album together, this sweet and nostalgic Indie-Folk-Pop duo brings an intimacy to their music that can hush a room to silence. Inspired by the blues and soul of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, California-born singer Marisa Duchowny (The Rabbit) melodically meets her raw and edgy New York-native counterpart, Neill MacCallum, (The Hare) to create a harmonious and lingering sound. Vulnerable, honest, and relatable, the Rabbit & the Hare's music transcends the Indie-folk spectrum and reaches more classic and timeless depths with their personal lyrics and catchy tunes. Freedy Johnston has been making records for over twenty-five years. Johnston was named Best Songwriter of 1994 in "Rolling Stone" magazine's annual critics' poll, for his album This Perfect World, which included the hit, "Bad Reputation". He beat out Kurt Cobain and Sam Phillips, who placed 2nd and 3rd in the poll, respectively. In 2009, he released his first new album in eight years, Rain On The City. Pitchfork, the Los Angeles Times, and others praised the album, calling it one of the most assured efforts of Johnson's career. Johnston is getting ready to release his next album, Neon Repairman, later this year.

Heather Christian is the daughter of a go-go dancer and a blues musician. A disgruntled classical pianist, she and her "orchestra", The Arbornauts (an eclectic assortment of multi-hyphenate musicians) turn Christian's dream-like hymns into a chamber punk collection of stories and meditations. She recently debuted her full length music/movement work North at LaMama ETC this year to much critical acclaim. "North manages to combine its poetic imagery and associative narrative into a surprisingly moving event. At the center of it all is the angelic Christian, who delivers a mesmerizing performance that is both intimate and powerful," said Backstage Magazine.

Alfie Boe has been described as "one of the U.K.'s most technically gifted talents" by All-Music and as "absolutely extraordinary" by award-winning director Baz Luhrmann, who cast Boe in his acclaimed 2002 Broadway production of Puccini's La Boheme in 2002. He has also been dubbed "opera's working-class hero" by Britain's Sunday Express - a declaration that sums up Boe's unique appeal. It's not just his thrilling voice that has captivated audiences, it's also his dramatic personal story: working-class singer goes from laboring in a factory to becoming a platinum-selling artist sharing stages with such artists as Queen and Alice Cooper, as well performing at the Diamond Jubilee Concert for Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. Champagne Jerry also known as Neal Medlyn is, by far, the greatest rapper in the world. He likes snacks, books, sexual intercourse, and rhyming. Champagne Jerry was born when Neal Medlyn's friend Max Tannone who had success with a Jay-Z /Radiohead "Jaydiohead" mashup album some years back, wrote and asked if he would want to write raps. It quickly became an all-consuming new project with Neal writing original underground-y contemporary hip hop songs in a style all his own, using the name Champagne Jerry, a nickname Bridget Everett gave him one fateful night when he walked around drinking an entire bottle of champagne. This long rumored debut will be featuring original songs, created with producer and remix master Max Tannone.

DUSTBOWL REVIVAL

The Dustbowl Revival is a Venice, California-based roots collective that merges old school bluegrass, gospel, jug-band, swamp blues and the hot swing of the 1930's to form a spicy roots cocktail. Known for their inspired live sets, the Dustbowl Revival boldly brings together many styles of traditional American music. Growing steadily from a small string band playing up and down the west coast (hundreds shows in the last two years), DBR has blossomed into a traveling collective featuring instrumentation that often includes fiddle, mandolin, trombone, clarinet, trumpet, banjo, accordion, tuba, pedal steel, drums, guitars, a bass made from a canoe oar, harmonica and plenty of washboard and kazoo for good luck. 2013 has a new album - Carry Me Home, on the way. Merging their vintage style with a hip, lose-your-troubles-and-start-moving vibe, the record perfectly encompasses the band's upbeat message.

THE HOT SARDINES

Take a blustery brass lineup, layer it over a rhythm section led by a Fats Waller-style stride-piano virtuoso, and tie the whole thing together with a magnetic, one-of-the-boys frontwoman whose voice recalls another era, and you have the Hot Sardines, an NYC outfit (with a tap dancer) that's been called "consistently electrifying live" (Popmatters). The Sardine sound - wartime Paris via New Orleans, or the other way around - is steeped in the kind of music Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt and Waller used to make: Straight-up, foot-stomping jazz. Pianist-bandleader Evan "Bibs" Palazzo and Paris-born singer Miz Elizabeth describe their band as "born in the 1920s, but raised in the '00s," reflecting a philosophy that hot jazz, dixieland and Tin Pan Alley tunes are all pop music, not historical artifact to be handled with kid gloves. The Sardines started 2013 headlining the TCM Classic Cruise, and continue to turn regular haunt The Standard Hotel into a "saloon in the sky" (The Wall Street Journal).

Nick Garrie is renowned in psychedelic collectors' circles for his 1970 debut, The Nightmare of J.B. Stanislas, a Baroque pop masterpiece. Born in 1949 in Yorkshire, England, to a Russian father and Scottish mother, Garrie began writing songs while attending Warwick University. After recording the never-released single "Queen of Spades" with American-born producer Mickey Baker, he teamed with producer Eddie Vartan to begin work on The Nightmare of J.B. Stanislas. Against Garrie's wishes, Vartan hired a 56-piece symphony for the sessions, and the artist (if not the record's admirers) later bemoaned the detrimental effects of such lush orchestration on his delicate, uncommonly literate songs. He released a second Nick Hamilton LP, 1994′s The Playing Fields, and in 2002, released Twelve Old Songs. Finally, in late 2005 the British reissue label Rev-Ola released The Nightmare of J.B. Stanislas to much critical acclaim, adding the "Queen of Spades" single as well as several unreleased Belgian demos.
