Molotov Theatre Group and Fantom Comics are workshopping a new play, "Gallery," in a free staged reading at Fantom's store on Sunday, September 28 at 8 PM. A reception will be held before the event at 7 PM.

Fantom Comics is located at 2010 P Street NW, in Washington, DC's Dupont Circle neighborhood.

Described as "NO EXIT, but with Batman Super-Villains," the play takes place in Arkham Asylum, after a bomb has gone off. With most of the inmates dead or escaped, five arch criminals are left behind to unravel the mystery of who planted the bomb. Joker, Riddler, Two-Face, Scarecrow and Poison Ivy decide their next moves - while digging into what makes each of them tick.

Featuring Elliott Kashner, Brian MacDonald, Matthew Marcus, Brian McDermott and Mallory Shear. Directed by Adam R. Adkins. (Production Stage Manager: Katherine Offutt). Kashner, McDermott, Adkins and Offutt are Molotov company members, along with Yoni Gray and Jen Bevan.

"The Dark Knight's Rogues Gallery uses fear to control their underlings and their victims," said director Adam R. Adkins (a Molotov Company member). The interesting questions 'Gallery' explores are what these villains fear themselves and how can they use those fears against each other."

According to Molotov founder Alex Zavistovich, "This staged reading will workshop 'Gallery' to determine whether it should be fully staged in the future. We're encouraging the audience to join in a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the play. Working with Fantom is ideal for us, because they're respected in DC's graphic novel community. Their customers and our audience have considerable cross-over. We're looking forward to doing more things with Fantom in the future."

WARNING: "Gallery" contains some mature themes. Parental discretion is required for those 13 or under.
