The 15th annual Jimmy Awards ceremony has come and gone and the top prizes have been awarded! Acclaimed EMMY, two-time TONY, and five-time GRAMMY Award-nominated singer, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist Josh Groban hosted the ceremony which took place on June 24 at the Minskoff Theatre. Earlier this month, the 2024 DPAC Rising Star Awards took place at the Durham Performing Arts Center. This regional competition brings together high school musical theater students from Central and Eastern North Carolina to perform and compete for the chance to represent the Triangle in The National High School Musical Theater (otherwise known as The Jimmy) Awards in New York City on June 24th.

The DPAC Rising Star Awards is a regional competition that brings together high school musical theater students from Central and Eastern North Carolina to perform and compete for the chance to represent the Triangle in The National High School Musical Theater (otherwise known as The Jimmy) Awards in New York City on June 24th. The national competition celebrates outstanding student performances in high school musical productions from all over the United States. This year, students from 31 local high schools submitted applications in the hopes of being selected as a Triangle Rising Stars' Top 20 finalist.

Yesterday, June 21,  96 Jimmy Awards nominees saw their faces displayed on billboards right in the heart of New York City. This was just one stop in a day of classic Broadway activities, from eating at Sardi’s to attending a Broadway show.

The Broadway League Foundation has revealed the team of theatre professionals and industry experts who will serve as coaches and judges during the 14th annual Jimmy Awards.
