Notable graduates from Baldwin Wallace University will band together on August 26 to honor the life of fellow grad Kyle Jean-Baptiste, the Les Miserables cast member who tragically passed away in 2015. Jean-Baptiste was the youngest, and the first African-American actor, to play the leading role of a?oeJean Valjeana?? on Broadway. The Kyle Jean-Baptiste Foundation, which was founded in 2016 in his name, supports and provides opportunities of enrichment and learning to empower youth, families, and communities through the Arts.

Top-selling recording artist Chris Mann brings his A Night With The Phantom: Chris Mann Sings Broadway to Feinstein's at Vitello's August 9th, 2019. After his game-changing, nationally televised duet with Christina Aguilera in 2012, Chris followed up with sold-out concert tours throughout the U.S., Mexico and Asia; as well as, a stint as the lead in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Opportunity presented itself for me to ask Chris about his path from classical training to Glee, Christina, PHANTOM, and now, Feinstein's at Vitello's.

Twin Bill Theater Company opens its third theatrical season with the Asian premiere of Mark St. Germain's two-character play DANCING LESSONS. The show will run at the Power Mac Spotlight, Level 2 Circuit Lane, Circuit Makati, on August 16-17 (Fri-Sat.) at 8 p.m. and August 21-24 (Wed.-Sat.) at 8 p.m.

Waitress's Jenna and Dr. Pomatter, Shoshana Bean and Erich Bergen, took their final bows at the diner this past weekend, and we have a peek inside the curtain call, including an emotional speech by the show's director, Diane Paulus. Be sure to check out the full video!

Winner of the SDSU New Musicals Initiative, 'TIL DEATH DO US PART tells the story of Gracie Jean, a spitfire from hardscrabble Tennessee, who is called to preach God's grace, and Matthew, heir apparent to small town Evangelical royalty, who struggles to rebel against his father while maintaining the privilege of his birth. When they meet, it's love at first sight. But what happens when a fairytale marriage becomes a battle of the sexes?

On Tuesday, BroadwayWorld learned that WAITRESS will end its Broadway run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020. Featuring a book by Jessie Nelson and a score by Sara Bareilles WAITRESS began performances on Broadway on March 25, 2016, and was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. 

On Monday night, the Emerson Colonial Theatre presented THE SETH RUDESTSKY SERIES STARRING JESSIE MUELLER, the first of three concerts with Cheyenne Jackson (October 4) and Kelli O'Hara (January 9) to follow. The host of Sirius SM's On Broadway channel, Rudetsky is a pianist, a music director, and possesses a vast knowledge of musical theater. In this series, a combination of conversation and musical performances, Rudetsky moves seamlessly between his dual roles as onstage accompanist and interviewer, starting out on the piano bench and ambling over to a quasi-living room ('we have a carpet') with a pair of comfy armchairs. Singing a broad range of selections, both Broadway and pop, Mueller proves herself to be a vocal chameleon, and presents as warm, genuine, and occasionally self-deprecating during the interview portions of the show.

With a bountiful supply of faith, trust, and pixie dust, a brand-new production company is ready to take the stage in Abilene. Kicking off their opening act on Saturday, October 5th at 7:30 PM, Highmont Events welcomes stars of stage and screen in Broadway Princess Party as they make their debut on the Historic Paramount Theatre (352 Cypress St, Abilene, TX) stage. The first show will be the London premiere of Dave Malloy's celebrated song cycle Ghost Quartet brought to life by the team behind the recent hit production of Sweeney Todd which won great acclaim in London and New York. Ghost Quartet will run alongside a packed roster of late-night and Sunday performances of cabaret, improv, jazz, comedy, classical music and poetry. The Boulevard Theatre's 2020 season will be announced in September.

Producer Kevin McCollum announced today that the new musical, Mrs. Doubtfire, will premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre this fall on route to Broadway.  The musical features a book Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, the Tony Award nominated team behind Something Rotten!  Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) will direct and Lorin Latarro (Waitress) will choreograph.  Ethan Popp (Tina) will serve as Music Supervisor.

Casting has been confirmed for the 69th Broadway At Music Circus season, which begins June 11 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The season includes four Broadway At Music Circus premieres, Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wiz, and In the Heights.
