BRIGADOON Cast Recording Set for December 7th Release

Ghostlight Records has announced the release of Lerner & Loewe's Brigadoon - New York City Center 2017 Cast Recording in physical, digital and streaming formats on Friday, December 7. Brigadoon has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Released to celebrate both the 70th anniversary of the original production of the show and the Alan Jay Lerner Centennial, the recording is based on the New York City Center Annual Gala Production, which was directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, with Jack Viertel serving as artistic advisor. Charles Bradley's Acclaimed Final Album 'Black Velvet' is Out Today

Black Velvet is the fourth and final album from the late, great soul singer Charles Bradley. Out today via Daptone imprint Dunham Records, the well-received 10-track album is a celebration of the life of the singer who would have turned 70 this past Monday, November 5, and was lovingly assembled by his friends and family. Sinking Ship Creations in association with Acronym Presents and Wildrence will present the World Premiere of The Mortality Machine, an immersive theatrical experience created by Ryan Hart, Tommy Honton, and Lara Marcin, at Wildrence (59 Canal Street between Allen and Orchard, New York, NY 10002), January 10-February 3, 2019. Performances will be Tuesday through Sunday at 7pm (dark Mondays). Tickets ($125) are available for advance purchase at www.themortalitymachine.com or by calling 917-336-9236. League Of Professional Theatre Women Releases Fourth Women Count Report

The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents) has published the fourth in a series of reports authored by Martha Wade Steketee with Judy Binus, on the status of women employed in New York City theaters. The fourth report, Women Count: Women Hired Off Broadway, available at theatrewomen.org/women-count/, analyzes employment in 13 professional roles - playwrights, directors, designers, stage managers, and others - in 515 Off- and Off-Off-Broadway productions by 22 theater companies for 5 complete seasons, 2013-14 through 2017-18 to show where women are and are not being hired.  (more...)
