Universal Studios Japan’s iconic Halloween celebration is back for 2025, evolved to deliver an even more spectacular experience. At night, the pulse-pounding HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS engulfs the park in fear, while the daytime HAHAHA! HALLOWEEN PARTY overflows with laughter and festive energy, showcasing two dramatically different faces of the park from day to night. This year introduces brand-new attractions and collaborations, blending spine-chilling terror with unrestrained joy in a one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration. Adding to the excitement, brand muse Ayami Nakajo made a surprise appearance at the opening ceremony for the brand-new co-created attraction with KATE, marking a glamorous start to the season.

It is bad for the state if Broadway falters. Broadway will falter if investment dries up. It is as simple as that. (I’m not sure how the “backfill” idea is in keeping with the idea that the credit is designed to stimulate investment, as that investment will have already occurred, but I also see the argument that folks who decided to invest in shows opening later in the fall were expecting the credit, and they may not invest in the future if they feel they were shafted this go round.)

Somewhere over the rainbow, I found myself transported to a land of wonder and imagination, right inside the Don Tyson School of Innovation’s Pat Ellison Performing Arts Center. Arts One Presents waved their theatrical wand and brought The Wizard of Oz to life in a vibrant, heart-filled production that ran from July 17–27.
