Kaapstaad (Tim Spelman) Releases New Single, 'Aula'

Stockholm-based Australian doctor turned musician TIM SPELMAN (also of Swedish indie pop group TINY FIGHTER) has released his new single 'Aula' under the name KAAPSTAAD, his solo electronic music project in pursuit of what could be described as sublime Nordic ambient-chill. This sophomore single is out today, having achieved that very objective, hot on the trails of his recently-released piano-based ambient debut solo 'Night'. NYC's Big Takeover Magazine writes, 'There is something in the spaciousness of this piano and beat-driven instrumental that captures more than just a vague feeling of relaxation... minimal structures perfectly describe windswept lands, its spacious ways conjuring big, star-strewn, open skies and wide-open spaces'.

The Colorado Music Festival (CMF) opens the 2022 season in Boulder, Colorado at the historic Chautauqua Auditorium on June 30, offering 22 concerts this summer and running through August 7, under the leadership of Music Director Peter Oundjian. John Adams is this summer's Composer-in-Residence, and the Takács Quartet are Artists-in-Residence.

Samantha Shay's MOTHER MELANCHOLIA Will Have On-Demand Screenings to Benefit Ukraine

From May 9-15, Samantha Shay’s short film Mother Melancholia will be available for on-demand viewing via pay what you can, and all funds raised will go towards aiding the Ukrainian people. The film is a multi-layered portrait of four women set to a soundtrack for the end of the world. As part of the Under Construction Festival and in partnership with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, this special digital programming event will be available at bit.ly/MotherMelancholia.
