Known for their blistering live performances, Mike and the Moonpies kicked off the new year with their most ambitious and successful tour schedule to date. Produced by John Jackson (The Jayhawks, Ray Davies) and Patrick Sansone (Wilco), these recording sessions took place at Cash's historic Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, TN where they recorded with instruments found on the storied grounds – ranging from June Carter Cash’s Steinway piano to an old railroad spike.

Self-produced by Rodrigo y Gabriela at their studio in Ixtapa, Mexico, the album – which sees the guitar duo expanding their traditional approach to include inventive electronic and orchestral elements – is heralded by the premiere of the first single, “Descending To Nowhere,” available now on all DSPs.

For the album, Morén enlisted fellow indie artists Ron Sexsmith, Jess Williamson, Eric Johnson (Fruit Bats, Bonny Light Horseman), and Kathryn Williams, which resulted in multiple duets throughout the album. The closing track “Wake Up,” written during a songwriting retreat, features Ren Harvieu.
