Multi-faceted vocalist/songwriter/musician/performer/producer and restlessly creative femme fatale Sylvia Black has announced her new album, Twilight Animals (Originals and Covers for Tortured Lovers), which will be released on October 18. Today, she has released the video for the first single from the album “Walking With Fire” featuring Lydia Lunch via Brooklyn Vegan.

Today, Slothrust have released a double A-side with their dear friends and former tour-mates, Sons Of An Illustrious Father -- comprised of Josh Aubin, Lilah Larson, and Ezra Miller. Tommy Stinson, a cofounder of legendary indie-rockers the Replacements, headlines an all-star benefit concert for Hudson's Little League at Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, July 5, at 8pm. Stinson will appear with longtime friend and collaborator Chip Roberts in a duo called Cowboys in the Campfire. Also performing are freak-folk outfit Dust Bowl Faeries, indie-rock singer-songwriter Jesse Malin, and Guilty Pleasure, one of the region's premiere party bands.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others.
