Century Song Comes To Centaur In February

The unique Canadian-made Edinburgh Fringe Festival hit, Century Song, featuring the rich soprano voice of Dora Award-winning Neema Bickersteth, comes to Centaur Theatre as the second of two exquisite gems in Centaur's Presenting Series this season. NFM Wrocław Philharmonic and Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero to Perform Five Concerts in Four Cities

From January 10-14, the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic and Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero will perform five concerts in four cities in Florida -- Ft. Myers, Gainesville, Daytona Beach and West Palm Beach -- as part of the Polish orchestra's twelve-city US tour this month. The tour also includes stops in Chicago, Indianapolis, Nashville and throughout California.

Giancarlo Guerrero Brings The NFM Wrocław Philharmonic Across The US In 2020

This winter, the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic embarks on a twelve-city US tour with conductor Giancarlo Guerrero, Music Director of the Polish orchestra since 2017. This tour is the first time the orchestra has toured the United States since 2012. Throughout the tour, the orchestra will perform works of Polish composers from across generations, including Frederic Chopin, Karol Szymanowski and Witold Lutosławski, an original patron of the National Forum of Music (NFM) in Wrocław. Johannes Brahms, a composer with close ties to Wrocław will also be represented on tour along with other Central European composers Antonin Dvořák and Béla Bartók.

Vancouver Art Gallery presents Rapture, Rhythm and the Tree Of Life - Emily Carr and Her Female Contemporaries from December 7, 2019 to June 28, 2020. Emily Carr (1871-1945) is an iconic Canadian artist who is widely recognized for her paintings of the forested landscapes of British Columbia that evoke the possibility for transcending the material world through the colour, shapes and rhythms of nature. Drawn primarily from the Gallery's permanent collection, this exhibition features a number of Carr's paintings of forest interiors-environments that she often described in her journals as offering an almost rapturous connection to the divine.
