This Sunday at 3pm, little known facts will be revealed about the upcoming off-Broadway production and the real side of what it is to pursue a career in the arts. South Korean Theater Director Dimo Kim To Stage New Musical COMFORT WOMEN

Dimo Kim Musical Theatre Factory, a new theatre company providing more roles for Asian American actors has announced that it will present the Off-Broadway revival of COMFORT WOMEN: A NEW MUSICAL written by South Korean Theater Director Dimo Hyun Jun Kim, Osker David Aguirre, and Joann Malory Miese with music by Bryan Michaels and TaeHo Park on Friday, July 20ththrough Sunday, September 2nd at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). The official opening will be on Friday, July 27th. The production is supported by the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan. (more...)

His quest to be extraordinary is set to an unforgettable score by musical theatre giant Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell). Pippin feels utterly current, asking us where we can look to find light through darkness and hope through uncertainty. Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day.  Pippin's message is universal and will connect with audiences across the age spectrum. Stephen Schwartz Celebrate WICKED During Oz-stravaganza In Chittenango, NY

Legendary Broadway and Hollywood songwriter Stephen Schwartz was announced today as special guest of the annual 'OZ-Stravaganza!'/WIZARD OF OZ festival, June 1-3, in Chittenango, NY. The Oscar and Grammy Award-winning composer/lyricist will take part in two separate events today and Sunday that weekend, celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of WICKED, which opened on Broadway in 2003. The musical is among Schwartz's greatest international successes, recounting the saga of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch in the Land of Oz. Chittenango, just east of Syracuse, is the birthplace of L. Frank Baum, who introduced those characters in his iconic children's book, THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ (1900). (more...)
