The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical, an epic story of family, love and patriotism set during the Japanese American internment of World War II. Directed by Stafford Arima, with music and lyrics by Jay Kuo and book by Marc Acito, Kuo and Lorenzo Thione, the production features choreography by Andrew Palermo and music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Lynne Shankel.

Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! The Musical the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli, will open a Los Angeles company with performances beginning August 31, at the Hayworth Theatre. This engagement marks the West Coast Premiere of the Off-Broadway hit. The press opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2012. SILENCE! The Musical is produced by Theater Mogul.

Kokandy Productions will present 'The Great American Trailer Park Musical' ('Trailer Park), Aug. 3 through Aug. 26, 2012 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont.

Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan will provide all nine voices for an a cappella "surprise" bonus track on the forthcoming See Rock City & Other Destinations original off-Broadway cast recording produced by Yellow Sound Label. The piece was arranged by the show's orchestrator Justin Hatchimonji and features a song from the Drama Desk-nominated score.

Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) will present Joe Slabe's Jeremy de Bergerac as the tenth selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, for readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), on Monday, August 6th at the Davenport Studio (250 West 49th Street, Suite 304, NYC). Jeremy de Bergerac is directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar. The performance will be at 8:00pm followed by a talk-back with the writer.

On August 19th at 7pm, BroadwayUnderstudies.com has invited some of Broadway's most talented understudies to the stage of the Laurie Beechman Theatre to share their rare talent-the ability to perform at a second's notice. They'll be thrown into the fire in 'Half Hour: A Last Minute Concert,' a show where even they don't know what they'll be singing before they step up to the microphone. The audience will get to vote on what song each performer will sing.

BWW reports on the upcoming cabaret of new songwriting by Anderson & Petty, Laura Tisdall and Christopher J. Orton with a cast of West End star vocalists at the Union Theatre on August 12 .

Youth Music Theatre UK's residential Summer Skills courses are back for 2012. The company of the first North American tour of WICKED welcomes Kim Zimmer as Madame Morrible and Cliffton Hall as Fiyero on Tuesday, August 14 and Patti Murin as Glinda on Tuesday, August 21 in Salt Lake City, UT.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's artistic director Eric Rosen has cast Broadway musical veteran Wallace Smith as the Leading Player in the Rep's production of Pippin. Rosen will direct the musical, which runs September 14-October 7. Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark's Chase Brock will choreograph and Curtis Moore is musical director.

This 1960s inspired musical tells the tale of Seymour (Alexander Sibley), an assistant to Mr. Mushnik (Ed Morvant) at a skid row flower shop who discovers a new breed of plant that feeds on human flesh and blood. Seymour later finds love with Audrey (Charlotte Voelkel), rescues her from an abusive relationship with Dr. Scrivello (Cameron Welch) in a rather unconventional way, and they live happily ever after… or do they?

The Muny has announced principal casting for the sixth show of its 94th season, Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd), July 30 - August 5, directed by Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Denis Jones. Conceived by Gordon Greenburg, Nell Benjamin and John McDaniel, Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd) features lyrics by W.S. Gilbert, and music by Arthur Sullivan. Revised book and lyrics are by Nell Benjamin, and music supervision, new arrangements and orchestrations are by John McDaniel.

Philadelphia's Broadway dreams will come true for the fourth consecutive summer when The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) partners with The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts to present their Summer Performing Arts Intensive July 30 through August 5, 2012. Jason Robert Brown, Tony Award winner for Parade, and a faculty of Broadway professionals will teach master classes during the week to aspiring Philadelphia area students interested in pursuing a career in musical theatre. Transport Group Theatre Company, the winner of both a Special Drama Desk Award and Obie Award, has announced that that their award-winning 2010 production of See Rock City & Other Destinations will receive an original cast recording produced by Yellow Sound Label. The Drama Desk and Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical has music by Brad Alexander and book and lyrics by Adam Mathias. The show was directed by Transport Group Artistic Director Jack Cummings III.

Heidi Blickenstaff has joined the cast of SING ALONG, alongside Remy Zaken and Patrick Page. Sam Tsui, whose album, 'The Covers' was released on Sh-K-Boom Records, has signed on to replace Levi Kreis due to scheduling conflicts.

Disney's The Little Mermaid, the hit Broadway musical based on the popular animated film, opened July 10 at Wells Fargo Pavilion for a two-week run through July 22. This Disney family favorite, part of the 2012 Music Circus season, features the popular songs "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," and "Kiss the Girl." Sonnet Repertory Theatre celebrates a decade of producing classic theatre for the modern planet with a world-premiere adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Michael Raver, directed by Quin Gordon. The Picture of Dorian Gray will begin performances on Thursday, August 9, with an official opening slated for Friday, August 10, at The Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Second Stage Theatre presents the world premiere musical, DOGFIGHT. The cast features Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Annaleigh Ashford (Rent, Wicked, Legally Blonde), Becca Ayers (The Addams Family, Avenue Q), Steven Booth (Glory Days), Dierdre Friel (Leap of Faith), Adam Halpin (Glory Days), F. Michael Haynie (Carrie), Derek Klena (Carrie), Lindsay Mendez (Godspell, Second Stage's Everyday Rapture), James Moye (Million Dollar Quartet), and Josh Segarra (Lysistrata Jones). Broadway Bootcamp's production of PIPPIN, featuring a cast of over 60, will be on the Manatee Players' stage for four performances.
