Cleveland Play House Production Of A CHRISTMAS STORY Returns For 11th Year

Everyone's favorite characters from Cleveland Street are back for their 11th production with Cleveland Play House (CPH) during the 2018 holiday season. A Christmas Story will once again delight Cleveland audiences with the story you know and love, based on the original motion picture that was filmed in Cleveland. CPH's production of A Christmas Story has quickly become an annual holiday tradition for families of all generations. Each year, these performances attract thousands of new guests to live theatre at Cleveland Play House. Overture Seeks Musical Theater Teaching Artists For DMIS

Overture Center for the Arts is seeking experienced musical theater choreographers, directors, musical directors, actors, producers and theater education staff to train as teaching artists for Disney Musicals in Schools.  The program, currently running at nine Madison Metropolitan School District elementary schools is designed to create sustainable theater programs in elementary schools for students in grades three-five. Through the program, participating schools produce a Disney KIDS musical in their school community and join in a culminating performance at Overture. (more...)

Nine year old Sarajane Morse Mullins captured the hearts of that first year's audience as the world's most famous redhead. Now twenty-two years later, Sarajane returns as Miss Hannigan on the same stage she began her professional career. Annie's red dress has been passed to Maddi Reese Ames, the next generation of budding starlets. It promises to be a special homecoming and debut for the two actresses and audiences. (more...)

BWW Review: Disney's ALADDIN at The Kentucky Center For The Arts

As many theatre fans know, Disney isn't short of staged adaptions based on their beloved family films. Starting in the 90s with Beauty and the Beast, Disney has gone on to produce shows such as The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Mary Poppins, Frozen, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Freaky Friday (the later two sadly never made the leap to Broadway), with shows such as The Jungle Book, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Hercules currently in development. In 2014 Disney mounted it's Arabian fairy tale Aladdin on Broadway. Now, 4 short years later, Aladdin has embarked on its first national tour, making a two week stop here in Louisville. (more...)

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma is pleased to announce the five new schools that have been selected to participate in the 2018-19 Disney Musicals in Schools program. The program is an initiative developed by Disney Theatrical Productions to create sustainable theater programs in under-resourced elementary schools.
