From November 1 to 30, 2014 Centaur Theatre presents the Quebec English-language premiere of Tricia Cooper's, Social Studies, featuring an intimate four-member cast directed by triple threat playwright, actor and director, Paul Van Dyck (Sahara Crossing, Haunted, Miss Sugarpuss Must Die!, Paradise Lost, Blood Wild and the META-winning Oroonoko).

BC Beat, the bi-annual choreography showcase established to support, explore and experience innovative theatrical dance, announces a line up for Monday November 10th featuring eight choreographers with work performed by a company of 40 artists from Broadway's biggest hits. The evening kicks off with 7pm at Cielo (18 Little W. 12th Street).

MARENA PEREZ, principal dancer of the Balleteatro Nacional de Puerto Rico and CARLOS MADERA, will appear as guest artists in the Alameda Civic Ballet's production of The Nutcracker on December 20 and 21, 2014 at the Kofman Theater in Alameda, California.

Costumes and jewelry worn by Madonna in the big screen adaptation of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical EVITA will be among the items auctioned at Julien's of Beverly HIlls next month.

On October 20, 2014, Florence Lacey (Broadway's Follies, Evita and Signature's Sunset Boulevard), Megan Lawrence (Broadway's Hair and Signature's Cabaret), Jacquelyn Piro Donovan (Broadway's Les Miserables and Signature's The Witches of Eastwick), Natascia Diaz (Broadway's Man of La Mancha and Signature's The Threepenny Opera) and Nick Blaemire (Broadway's Godspell and Signature's Glory Days) performed alongside 75 Signature Theatre artists and an 18-piece orchestra as Virginia's Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre celebrated its 25th Anniversary. With performances from 27 shows over the last 25 years, including Sweeney Todd, The Rhythm Club, Urinetown, The Boy Detective Fails, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Dreamgirls, Chess, and many more. Tooting Arts Club presents Sweeney Todd, featuring Olivier nominated Siobhan McCarthy from the original London cast of Mamma Mia! and ITV's Bad Girls as Mrs Lovett, all set in London's oldest pie shop. Directed by Bill Buckhurst with musical director Ben Cox, Sweeney Todd (Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; Book by Hugh Wheeler) will play Harrington's Pie and Mash Shop, Tooting, today 21st October to 29th November. Broadway In Chicago opened the the world premiere of AMAZING GRACE last night, the new musical with music and lyrics by Christopher Smith and a book by Christopher Smith and Arthur Giron, directed by Gabriel Barre (Andrew Lippas' The Wild Party) and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies).

Can a new musical be 'pre-Broadway' without having a New York theater booked, or without even announcing a timetable for said booking? How about a musical largely penned by a previously unknown writer, one who worked as a Pennsylvania policeman, and never formally studied music composition? Well, AMAZING GRACE is that show, and this expensive-looking, high-aiming show that's been in development since 2007, with book, music and lyrics by Christopher Smith (the book is co-written with the veteran playwright Arthur Giron) opened on Sunday night. So far, so good!

Wallis Center for the Performing Arts (aka "The Wallis") announces Patti LuPone Coulda Woulda Shoulda … played that part for a single performance on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 8:00 pm in the Bram Goldsmith Theater. Coulda Woulda Shoulda is conceived and directed by Scott Wittman with musical arrangements by Dick Gallagher; the musical director is Joseph Thalken.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, the second longest-running Broadway musical (only surpassed by Lloyd Webber's own 'The Phantom of the Opera'), and fourth longest-running West End musical, returns in high definition and digital sound to Great Performances where it had its 1998 world television premiere. West End star David Burt has been cast as Scrooge in Antic Disposition's magical, musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' festive classic, A Christmas Carol, which returns to the spectacular Elizabethan setting of Middle Temple Hall in central London from Saturday 20 - Tuesday 30 December, following a sell-out run in 2012.

I was lucky to get so much of Barry Doss' time. He is resident Costume Designer for Dance at Sam Houston State University and Stages Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of MARIE ANTOINETTE. When I called, he was in his workshop in Huntsville patterning and cutting. There are few shows I know every word to, and even fewer I've known for 30 years. When I was 10, I was in the chorus of a community theatre production of EVITA in Hingham, MA. I became obsessed. In 5th grade, we had to do a biographical report on anyone we chose. All the other boys chose Babe Ruth, Abraham Lincoln, Ted Williams...I threw up my hand and shouted 'Eva Peron!' The black and white covered vinyl double album became my own personal soundtrack. And I was somehow surprised that people knew I was gay.
