Ambassador Theatre Group Parent Company Announces Pending Acquisition of Theatres in San Francisco and Detroit

International Entertainment Holdings Limited, the parent company of The Ambassador Theatre Group, today announced the pending acquisition by IEHL of the iconic Golden Gate Theatre and Orpheum Theatre, both in San Francisco, and the Fisher Theatre in Detroit, as well as its programming operation of the Detroit Opera House and Music Hall in Detroit.

The Milburn Stone Theatre at Cecil College is ready to present the longest running American show on Broadway, Chicago, for the first time in its twenty-eight-year history. Chicago was originally written as a play in 1926 by Chicago tribune courthouse reporter, Maurine Dallas Watkins. Chicago was famously turned into a Broadway musical by John Kander and Fred Ebb and directed and choregraphed by Bob Fosse. Chicago was the winner of the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The 2002 film adaptation went on to win six academy awards including “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best Picture.”

CHICAGO To Be Produced By Arizona Broadway Theatre

Like many single-named celebrities, this show only needs a single moniker as well - Chicago! The 1926 play, written by reporter and playwright Maurine Dallas Watkins based on actual criminals and crimes that she reported on, has become an icon in American culture. The 1996 Broadway revival of Kander & Ebb's Chicago holds the record as the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, and, in 2002, the film version won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Chicago will be here in the Valley of the Sun at Arizona Broadway Theatre March 13 - April 19, 2020.

JOKER and THE MANDALORIAN Publicity Campaigns Win Top Honors at The 57th Annual ICG Publicists Awards

The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) Publicists today announced winners of its 57th Annual ICG Publicists Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. JOKER (Warner Bros. Pictures) won the top honors for the Maxwell Weinberg Award for Motion Pictures Publicity Campaign, presented by Director Paul Feig (Ghostbusters). THE MANDALORIAN: Season 1 (Disney+) won the Maxwell Weinberg Award for Television Publicity Campaign, presented by actor Jason Lewis (Sex in the City). This year's luncheon, which traditionally occurs the week leading up to the Academy Awards®, was chaired by Tim Menke and co-chaired by Sheryl Main. More than 800 industry leaders attended, including guild members, Hollywood public relations and marketing executives, producers, studio and network executives, celebrities and press.

Vision Productions Will Present the Midwest Premiere of THE ART OF SISTERS

Vision Productions has announced the limited engagement of the Midwest premiere of The Art of Sisters, adapted and directed by Vision Productions Artistic Director Miriam Canfield, March 4 - 7 in the library at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 31st St. Opening/press night is Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. with additional performances Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 7 at 3 and 7:30 p.m. The running time is 80 minutes with no intermission. Tickets are $28 each and on sale at Visionproductions.org

The award honors active members working on motion pictures whose achievements in publicity and promotion during the previous calendar year are deemed outstanding. More than 800 industry leaders are expected to attend this year's luncheon, which traditionally occurs the week leading up to the Academy Awards®. Teatro ZinZanni and Randolph Entertainment have announced New Year's Eve festivities for the Dec. 31 performance at the Spiegeltent ZaZou, located in the heart of the theatre district at 32 W. Randolph. In addition to a decadent four-course dinner theatre experience, Teatro ZinZanni will host a vibrant pre-show sparkling wine and cocktail hour and post-show celebration for audience members to get their groove on with dancing and a complimentary sparkling wine toast at midnight. ABC 7 Chicago will officially countdown the New Year with Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini, co-hosts of ABC 7's Windy City LIVE, at Teatro ZinZanni as a live broadcast location throughout the evening.

Millikin University's School of Theatre and Dance continues its 2019-20 performance season with Broadway's longest-running American musical, 'Chicago.' The show will run Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at Kirkland Fine Arts Center on Millikin's campus.
