Friends And Colleagues To Gather Together to Celebrate the Life and Career of Charlotte Rae

Cellist Maksin Joins Orion In November for RUSSIAN PASSION

The Orion Ensemble, winner of the prestigious Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, continues its 26th season with 'Russian Passion,' welcoming guest cellist Ian Maksin and guest violist Stephen Boe. Performances take place November 11 at a new venue, First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn; November 14 at the PianoForte Studios in downtown Chicago; and November 18 at the Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston.

Actors Co-op Theatre Company (Ovation Award-Winner 2017 Best Play, Intimate Theatre for 33 Variations) presents the first show in its 27th Season with the thriller ROPE, written by Patrick Hamilton, directed by Ken Sawyer, produced by Kevin Shewey.  ROPE will preview on Thursday, September 20 at 8pm and will open Friday, September 21 at 8pm and run through Sunday, October 29 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. 90028 (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

2018 Cloris Leachman Awards Nominees Announced

Founded in 2015, the Cloris Awards celebrate excellence in theatre in Greater Des Moines. The annual awards program brings together the theatre community and the public to celebrate their work and enhance the visibility of locally-produced theatre. 70 South Gallery To Host The Work Of Acclaimed Street Photographer Vivian Maier

Vivian Maier is one of the most celebrated street artists of the 20th century. And starting June 19th, visitors to the 70th South Print and Gallery will get to see her work in a special exhibit called "Vivian Maier: Through Her Lens." The gallery joins premier galleries from around the world that have hosted the work of Vivian Maier, in what is a collection that perhaps she never imagined anyone would actually view.  Maier had amassed more than 100,00 negatives of images she captured on the streets of New York City and Chicago, and it wasn't until after she passed that the images she tucked away in an old storage unit were found.  The reception for the New Jersey exhibit debut of her photographs will be held at 70 South Gallery on June 19, 2018, at 6:30 pm.

A trifecta of musical theatre productions will premiere in Sydney, Australia over the next two years. The Kander and Ebb masterpiece Chicago will open at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in 2019; the worldwide hit musical Saturday Night Fever will open at the Capitol Theatre in 2019; and the Australian premiere of the Broadway smash hit Waitress will open at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in 2020.

Palace Theatre Begins Complete Auditorium Renovation Today

Proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 92-year-old Palace Theatre today begins a full facelift of its 2,837-seat auditorium as part of an ongoing $6.5 million renovation. Adjacent to downtown Columbus' LeVeque Tower, the six-month, main-hall makeover will include the repair of damaged plaster, new paint in a new color scheme, all-new seats on the first floor, and fully refurbished seats in the balcony. As such, the Palace is now closed to the public, and will reopen in November 2018.
