Pre-sales for the final performances of CHICAGO in Canberra have begun today, with general public tickets on sale from Friday 21 June. One of Australia’s favourite musicals, CHICAGO, will play at the Canberra Theatre Centre from 7 to 29 September, the first time a professional production of the Broadway favourite has played in Australia’s capital city.

Cambridge University Press has recently released the rediscovered script for the 1926 Broadway production of The Great Gatsby. Long before the current musical adaptation, F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel came to the stage for the first time in 1926, playing at the Ambassador Theatre, which currently houses Chicago. The production, directed by filmmaker George Cukor (My Fair Lady) was successful, playing for 112 performances in New York before a national tour and later, a film.

CHICAGO will play at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney from 9 June for a strictly limited season. Due to demand, new performances have been released until 27 July, on sale from Friday 3 May with pre-sales this week.
