BroadwayWorld spoke with Kari Hayter, a professional director and educator based in Southern California, who is directing tick, tick… BOOM! for International City Theatre in Long Beach, running February 17 through March 5, on her vision for the production and how its themes speak to not only artists but everyone reaching to achieve their dreams.

What did BroadwayWorld's critic think of TICK, TICK…BOOM! at Comedy Theatre?

Before Rent, there was Tick, Tick…BOOM!, an autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer, which Forte Musical Theatre Guild will present from February 28 - March 12, 2023 at the Big Secret Theatre in Arts Commons.

Following his smash-hit performance of BOOM in 2015, award-winning, multi-talented Rick Miller returns to the Grand Theatre with his highly-anticipated sequel production: BOOM X.  Miller takes on the roles of writer, director, and performer in this international hit show, which utilizes a variety of dynamic, multimedia elements to bring the music, politics, and culture of Generation X to life.
