The Atlanta Opera will present From Opera to Opry: Liquor, Love and the Lord on Tuesday, December 5th at The Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse. Now in its second year, the holiday concert, in collaboration with ADA Ovations, will feature renowned professional opera singers as well as the bluegrass and country stylings of Cletus McHatfield and the McHatfield Fambly Singers. Gianandrea Noseda Returns to the United States to Conduct in New York and D.c.

Maestro Gianandrea Noseda returns to the United States this month through early December to conduct a wide range of programs from Dallapiccola to Beethoven and Gershwin to Britten beginning with his first series of subscription weeks as the new Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra. In between concerts at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Noseda returns to the New York Philharmonic for the first time since 2006, leading the orchestra in a program that will include Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 3. San Francisco Opera presents Puccini's TURANDOT

San Francisco Opera will present Giacomo Puccini's Turandot at the War Memorial Opera House in six performances from November 18 through December 9. After opening the Company's 2017 Fall Season in September, the work returns in the colorful production by British-born artist David Hockney and with a cast headed by internationally renowned Swedish soprano Nina Stemme. Tenor Brian Jagde reprises the role of Calaf, soprano Leah Crocetto sings Li and bass Soloman Howard makes his Company and role debuts as Timur. DON CARLOS is the Centerpiece of Exeter Northcott Theatre's 50th Anniversary Season

Artistic and Executive Director of Exeter Northcott Theatre Paul Jepson today announces a major new revival of Schiller's Don Carlos with Tom Burke leading the company as Rodrigo, Marquis of Posa. Gadi Roll's production is presented in a co-production with Nuffield Southampton Theatres and Rose Theatre Kingston. The production is the centrepiece of the Exeter Northcott's 50th anniversary celebrations. The production opens in Exeter on 16 October, with previews from 11 October and runs until 20 October 2018 ahead of performances in Southampton and Kingston. The production reunites Burke and Roll following their previous collaboration on Don Juan Comes Back From the War at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. (more...)

Syracuse Stage and the Department of Drama team up with New York City-based 2 Ring Circus to put an acrobatic spin on the beloved family favorite, The Wizard of Oz. Based on the original novel by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 MGM Motion Picture, this stage adaptation contains the familiar characters and popular songs , such as Over the Rainbow and We're Off to See the Wizard (Follow the Yellow Brick Road).
