A true love story inspired by Rivera's parents' courtship and eventual migration from Puerto Rico to Alabama, Boleros for the Disenchanted makes its Chicago premiere directed by Henry Godinez?the Goodman's Resident Artistic Associate who was named 2008 Latino of the Year by the Chicago Latino Network. Chicago actors Elizabeth Ledo and Sandra Marquez command the stage in the role of Flora, based on Rivera's mother, at various points in her life. Godinez's cast also includes Liza Fernandez, Joe Minoso, Rene Rivera and Felix Solis. Boleros for the Disenchanted is performed in English in the Albert Theatre June 20 ? July 26, 2009. Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the Spring 2009 honorees from among 31 Minnesota high schools participating in the 2008-2009 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program. The SpotLight awards recognize accomplishments by school and artistic category for this Hennepin Theatre Trust program which supports the work of Twin Cities' high schools that present musical theatre-from classics including Fiddler on the Roof to a new school edition of Sweeney Todd. The musicals are made possible by the collaboration of over 2,500 students and are seen by nearly 50,000 audience members annually.

Broadway and TV actor Will Chase will be a guest star tonight on 'Rescue Me'. Rescue Me revolves around the lives of the men in a New York City firehouse, the crew of 62 Truck. Examining the fraternal nature and relationships of firefighters, the series tackles the daily drama of the life-and-death situations associated with being a firefighter, while exploring the ways the men use dark humor to protect their true emotions.
Casting has been announced for the Las Vegas production of Disney's THE LION KING. The eagerly awaited sit-down production will leap onto the Mandalay Bay Theatre stage with preview performances May 5, and celebrate its official opening May 15.
