During the holiday season, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe presents its Christmas card to the community, the exuberant musical revue, “A Motown Christmas.” (Created, adapted and directed by Nate Jacobs.) Presented previously in 2015, 2017 and 2019, the show features some favorite traditional carols as well as many original Christmas songs written and recorded by Motown's most celebrated artists, such as The Jackson 5, The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye. WBTT’s sizzling signature style makes this a most memorable Christmas treat that’s fun for the whole family! “A Motown Christmas” is not part of WBTT's season subscription.
Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will present BUT I CAN!, an original showcase by Charlotte Corporan, blending live music, dance, and personal storytelling as part of the fourteenth year of its Young Artist Program.

During its annual “Hush! Hush! Party” on February 23, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) announced its 2026-2027 theatre season of shows, with the theme “Rhapsodies of Rhythm.”
Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will present Brian L. Boyd in ENIGMA, the first Independent Artist Program showcase of the season. The two-night event will feature an original theatrical work created in collaboration with M.A.D. Music Acting Dance Inc. and performed by a company of WBTT artists. Boyd, a longtime member of the troupe with extensive stage credits, will return to Sarasota for the premiere.
The Hermitage Artist Retreat has announced that Tony Award nominee Betsy Wolfe (Waitress, & Juliet, Death Becomes Her) will headline the 17th annual Artful Lobster: An Outdoor Celebration on Saturday, November 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will welcome back to its stage one of its most successful and popular young artists for a two-night engagement. Christopher Eisenberg, who started working with WBTT Founder/Artistic Director Nate Jacobs at the age of 8 and has gone on to be signed to major label deals, will present “Frank & Me” at WBTT on March 26 and 27, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.

WBTT's first Young Artist showcase of the 2021-2022 season features singer/dancer/actor Derric Gobourne Jr. in a presentation titled “SH!NE.” The showcase will take place Monday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.
