TCG to Host 2017 National Conference in Portland

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, proudly announces that the 27th annual TCG National Conference will take place in Portland, OR from June 8 to 10, 2017. The TCG National Conference provides the largest forum for the national theatre community to assemble for artistic and intellectual exchange. The multi-day event draws hundreds of theatre professionals from around the world for meetings, speeches, performances, and opportunities to explore the local theatre community.
Artists Rep Joins League of Resident Theatres

?Artists Repertory Theatre is proud to announce the 34 year-old theatre company has been accepted as the 72nd member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). Artists Rep joins the Northwest's other three LORT theatre companies:  Portland Center Stage, Seattle Repertory Theatre and A Contemporary Theatre (ACT), in Seattle.

 Artists Repertory Theatre is thrilled to present The Skin of Our Teeth, a timeless comedy by Thornton Wilder that has amazed audiences for generations with its unique theatrical style, huge, and not always human, cast and an epic story that spans centuries. The Skin of Our Teeth is a play in three acts, Artists Rep's production will include 3 to 10 Community Guest Stars in walk-on roles for every performance and will employ multimedia projections, live video feed and a cornucopia of masks.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Show Kicks Off 6/7

Free outdoor entertainment returns to the Bricks June 7 when the Rogue Suspects take the Courtyard Stage as the first Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Show performers of the season. The Green Show continues through October 16, six nights a week at 6:45 p.m. The full schedule is available here.

You know those shows that won't quite let you go? Heidi Schreck's GRAND CONCOURSE, now playing at Artists Repertory Theatre, is one of them. I saw the show with 10 people. We all had a slightly different take on it, and we have continued to talk about it -- both online and off. I take that a sign of something good.
OSF's Allen Elizabethan Theatre to Open in June

Oh, the places you'll go! The Oregon Shakespeare Festival transports audiences to a ghostly Danish castle, dynastic China, and Oz's Emerald City when its outdoor theatre opens the weekend of June 17-19. The Allen Elizabethan Theatre will feature Hamlet, directed by Lisa Peterson; the classic 1970s musical The Wiz, directed by Robert O'Hara; and The Winter's Tale, directed by Desdemona Chiang. The shows will close the weekend of October 14-16.
