The premiere of Dreamgirls in Los Angeles last night, March 2, was clouded by friends of Marie Osmond mouring the loss of her son, Michael Blosil, who recently committed suicide. Stars such as Angela Bassett and Nia Long expressed their condolences to the Osmonds on ET. (more...)

Actor and performer Israel Cortez is becoming quite the YouTube sensation thanks in part to his solo remix interpretation of the powerhouse song 'It's All Over' from the film version of the musical 'Dreamgirls'. Cortez, a La Palma, California, resident, plays all the parts in the song, which is sung by Jamie Foxx, Keith Robinson, Beyonce, Anika Noni Rose and Sharon Leal as they confront Jennifer Hudson's 'Effie'. R.Evolución Latina's D2GB (Dare to Go Beyond) Children's Performing Arts Camp concludes tomorrow with a very special celebration at El Museo del Barrio. R.Evolución Latina, who has been featured on NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams in a segment called 'Making a Difference', is a collective of artists and activists committed to empowering the artistic community in order to inspire growth within the Latino Community through collaboration, productions, and educational support programs. An added focus to this year's camp is health awareness and the importance of physical activity as we address the growing concern of obesity in our Latino children. 'Through the arts, we will empower the youth to recognize the importance of leading and maintaining a healthy life' says Camp Coordinator Ali Solomon. This free camp will provide more than 150 underserved children ages 7-17 the chance to experience the arts through classes taught by NYC and international artists from the theatre, music, dance, and Latino communities. 'This camp is very inspiring and also fun... It's like a mission that we have to accomplish during this week, I'm just loving everything about it.' said Rosa Fermin one of the students. (more...)
