Riverside Center for the Performing Arts will present Little Women The Musical. This adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel features a talented cast led by Ashlee Beary as Jo March, exploring themes of love, loss, and dreams during the American Civil War.

Louisa May Alcott’s novel “Little Women” has proven so enduringly popular since it was first published in 1868 that it has been turned into two plays, a musical, an opera, 11 different feature films and TV movies, three Japanese anime versions, and even a 12-part Korean streaming series.

Although society may have tried to conceal them, bold and daring women have existed throughout history. Sisterhood and the realities of being a woman in the Civil War era are central themes in this musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel. The Bridge Initiative’s concert version of the musical is an exciting venture into those topics.

Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 coming-of-age novel is a beloved read across the world, with its descriptions of sisterly devotion, struggle, love, and loss. The March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy - have woven themselves into the lives of women and girls since their publication.
