Acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician Joy Oladokun will continue her extensive “Living Proof” headline tour through November with newly confirmed shows at Dallas’ Kessler Theater, Austin’s Scoot Inn, Los Angeles’ The Belasco, Seattle’s The Showbox, Portland’s McMenamins Crystal Ballroom and San Francisco’s The Fillmore among many others.

To celebrate the album announcement, Watson has released a new track. “Would It Pain You to See?” is out now with a video available to watch below. The accompanying mind-melting video was created by Michael Hili, who also directed Flume’s “Say Nothing.”

Nashville’s Be Your Own Pet will release their long-awaited new album Mommy via Third Man Records. They tease the LP with a new single, the thunderous “Big Trouble.” The song is a siren-laden jam where front-woman Jemina Pearl insists on her own emotions and reality. Portland's newest opera company, OrpheusPDX, kicks off its second season on August 3 with Mozart's charming and irresistible opera, The Royal Shepherd (Il Re Pastore). All performances will take place in Portland State University's Lincoln Performance Hall, hailed by Opera News as the best venue for opera in the city.

Pulling from surf-rock and indie-pop influences, “life goes by” is a quintessential summer track. Light and airy guitars and lead singer Dawson Daugherty’s vocals all intertwine to perfectly capture the feeling of soaking up the sun on an easy, laid-back summer day. The vibrant accompanying music video depicts just that.

NEIL FRANCES (Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry) tap up-and-coming LA hip hop artist St. Panther for their second single together, “Let’s Break It Down.” The new track trades the R&B vibes of “Head Straight” for a ’90s-inspired dance-pop anthem written for the LGBTQIA community, with St. Panther adding catchy hooks.

“Back To Life” finds Poolside--the recording project of Los Angeles-based producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Paradise—teaming again with Australian artist Panama. Known for their previous releases “Kinda Lovely” and “Can’t Stop Your Lovin’”-- both which appeared on Poolside’s Low Season album.

Nashville’s Be Your Own Pet made a triumphant return to both the stage and airwaves this past year after nearly 15 years apart. The new track is “Goodtime!,” which highlights the struggle of balancing two kids, a mortgage, and the desire for BYOP to make a comeback. The album will be quickly followed by a massive North American tour.

Breakout soul artist Devon Gilfillian shares “All I Really Wanna Do (Sunset Mix)” ahead of his performance this Saturday, June 17 at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee. His new “Sunset Mix” is the counterpart to the lighthearted edition “All I Really Wanna Do (Sunrise Mix)” shared last month.

Charlotte Cardin has announced her sophomore album 99 Nights. The album is the follow up to her lauded, multi-Juno winning debut, Phoenix. Coinciding with the news, Charlotte has released the title track “99 Nights,” an infectious earworm about longing that puts Cardin’s captivating vocals on full display. 

In celebration of the release of his new album, Lucky, Sumbuck has shared a video for album track “Moss.” Directed by Clara Cullen, the video was filmed following Gabriela Hearst’s fall/winter 2023 runway show in New York. The set was designed in collaboration between Gabriela Hearst and the renowned Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura.

Wallice is back with a brand new song as yet another reminder of why she is one of the most impressive new artists making music right now. “Disappear” is an EP favorite with its subdued, Radiohead-esque opening, it quickly transforms into another pop-punk cut, carrying on the energy of previous singles “Loser at Best” and “Best Friend.”

Yam Haus has also announced a number of appearances. On Friday, July 14, the band will perform as part of the inaugural TC Summer Fest at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN supporting The Killers. Kicking off on October 6 at Hi-Fi in Indianapolis, IN, the band’s forthcoming North American headline tour will visit additional markets across the U.S.

Following a whirlwind two-year career in the late 00’s that saw the four teenagers release two records (via Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace in the US and XL Recordings in the UK), become magazine cover stars, and play to ravenous sold-out crowds around the world, it became clear that the flame burned too quickly and they needed to call it quits.

One of Alternative rock’s most important trailblazers, Louise Post - of seminal band Veruca Salt - releases her latest song “What About.' The guitar hazy atmospheric track from the album, “What About” continues to showcase Post’s ability to weave intricate lyrical tapestries with undeniable, hook-heavy melodies that make up Sleepwalker. 

International electronic artist French 79—the musical alias of French producer, remixer and songwriter Simon Henner—premieres the video for his track, “You Always Say,” featuring singer and composer Olivia Merilahti of The Dø. The video was directed by a pair of Henner’s lifelong friends and creative collaborators, who go by the name Cauboyz.
