For the fifteenth consecutive year, A Swinging Birdland Christmas stormed the stage at the iconic music room. See photos from the event and learn more!

Swing on by Birdland Jazz Club for A SWINGING BIRDLAND CHRISTMAS with Jim Caruso, Billy Stritch, and Klea Blackhurst. It will get you into the holiday spirit just in time. The show, celebrating its 15th anniversary, is in full swing through 12/25.

A song-packed 12/12 Christmas event helmed by baritone James Barbour (PHANTOM, JANE EYRE) helped celebrate the season and raise money to help others. Alternately earnest, chatty, cheery, or electrifying, Barbour's event was a night to remember.

You have until Saturday to make Merry with THE MERRIEST and make your way to Birdland Jazz Club for Jane Monheit's Christmas tour stop, with sets at 8:30 and 10:30 pm. It's a recommended treat.

Adrian Galante made his Birdland Jazz Club headline debut on November 26th. Backed by Alan Broadbent on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Obed Calvaire on drums... Adrian played his jazz clarinet (and 2 forays on the piano) with mesmerizing expertise.

Check out photos from the latest edition of Jim Caruso’s Cast Party. The open mic variety show takes place every week at Birdland, the iconic jazz club in the heart of New York City. Musical director Billy Stritch accompanies from the piano, leading the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra (Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass on drums).

On Monday, October 14, pianist and composer Jason Yeager returned to Birdland, this time co-leading a stellar quintet with jazz violin virtuoso and composer Jason Anick, in celebration of their new album, Sanctuary, which came out October 11th on Sunnyside Records. See photos from the show.

On Monday September 23, Amanda McBroom returned to the iconic music room to celebrate the release of her new recording, “Wintersong,” a collection of songs to mark the winter holidays. The concert was followed by the weekly open mic, “Jim Caruso’s Cast Party.” See photos here!

Last week, Amanda McBroom unveiled highlights from her forthcoming album WINTERSONG at Birdland, a collection of mostly new songs on a holiday theme. It feels strangely incongruous on a sultry September evening to be listening to songs about hearth and family, but McBroom painted such vivid songscapes that you left ready for a vigorous sleigh ride

Birdland presented the return of singer Karen Mason in an encore performance of “Just in Styne: Karen Sings Jule” on Monday, September 16. Check out photos here!

After several sold-out shows at Birdland, crooning troubadour and nouveau vaudevillian Bryce Edwards returned to the historic stage with The Frivolity Hour on Monday, September 9. Once more, Bryce shared his brand of hot traditional jazz and early 20th century popular music. Check out photos here!

Birdland presented singer Karen Mack in concert on Monday, August 26. The event celebrated Karen’s new solo album 'Catch & Keep,” a fun mix of contemporary jazz classics, including works by Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough, Nellie McKay and Betty Bryant. See photos from the show. 

Birdland presented singer/pianist Steve Ross in “I Remember Him Well,” a tribute to Alan Jay Lerner on Monday, August 19 at 7pm. Following the concert was another edition of Jim Caruso’s Cast Party. Check out photos here!

After a dozen years of sold-out engagements at the Art House, and a Covid-necessitated poolside show at the Crown & Anchor in 2020, Maye is back this year to give a Broadway-themed concert at Town Hall on August 25, with Tedd Firth on piano, Steve Doyle on bass, and Daniel Glass on drums.
