The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Alysha Umphress, currently starring as "Hildy" in the Broadway revival of On The Town, and Tony-nominated songwriter Jeff Blumenkrantz, on Monday, January 5 at 7pm. The duo celebrated the release of their new CD, "I've Been Played," which features Jeff's swinging songs and arrangements performed as only Alysha can! "I've Been Played" is on the Yellow Sound Label, and available now for pre-order on Amazon.com.

On Monday, December 29, the Broadway at Birdland concert stage was the place singer/actor Erich Bergen chose to celebrate his 29th birthday with not one, but two sold-out concerts. Best known for his performance as Bob Gaudio in the Clint Eastwood film "Jersey Boys," and the current hit CBS drama "Madam Secretary," Erich brought his dry wit, smooth vocals, ten piece band, three background singers and two-toned shoes to the Birdland stage, featuring songs from his stage and screen career, and material from his two EP releases.

In the fifth year of 'A Swinging Birdland Christmas,' singers Klea Blackhurst, Jim Caruso, and pianist/singer Billy Stritch have been knocking 'em dead on the stage of the historic jazz club every night.

Five years ago, Michael Feinstein approached ubiquitous producer Scott Siegel about 'coming up with a club act' for Feinstein's at the Loews Regency. The title 11 O'Clock Numbers at 11 O'Clock was Siegel's eureka moment. 'Broadway shows used to start at 8:30,' Siegel reminded us. 'The 11 o'clock number was meant to shake an audience awake in time to enjoy the end of a show.' Every Thursday night until its host venue sadly shuttered in January 2013, the series packed'm in for soaring voices and musical bonhomie. Since then, this particular collaboration of vocalists--Scott Coulter, Christina Bianco, and Carole J. Bufford--have twice appeared in the Broadway at Birdland series, but now the 11 O'Clock numbers are featured at 7 O'Clock. Not only does the concept hold up, but also its artists having matured, may even be better.

On Monday, December 8, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of 11 O'Clock Numbers at 7 O'Clock. The critically acclaimed musical revue that ran at Feinstein's at the Regency for an unprecedented 8 months, then performed two sold-out shows at Birdland, returns to Birdland with its original cast Christina Bianco, whose videos have been seen by more than 10 million people and who has become an international phenomenon.

On Monday, December 1, the Broadway at Birdland concert series hosted the return of Julie Halston and Julie Gold in JulieJulie: Then & Now. Reunited on stage for the first time in 15 years, Ms. Halston (currently starring in Broadway's You Can't Take It With You) and Ms. Gold (the Grammy-winning composer of 'From A Distance') combined comedy and songs about all the major topics: mothers, show biz, love, death and facelifts!

Singers Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and singer/pianist/arranger Billy Stritch have joined forces in HOLLYWOODLAND: Songs From The Silver Screen, which is running at Birdland through Thanksgiving (Thursday) evening with a show at 6pm. Material includes beloved songs like 'Pennies From Heaven,' 'Let's Misbehave,' 'Over The Rainbow,' 'If I Only Had A Brain,' 'Whistle While You Work,' and 'It Happened In Sun Valley.' There is also a tribute to the songs introduced by Fred Astaire. The trio is accompanied by Rick Montalbano on drums and Neal Miner on bass.

On Monday, November 3, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to host Tony Award Nominated actress & singer Anita Gillette on the historic stage in a wonderful evening of music and memories, and a hilarious look behind the scenes from Broadway to Hollywood in 'After All...and furthermore...'

On Monday, October 27, the Broadway at Birdland series was proud to present singer Trevor McQueen, who made his Birdland concert debut with a 17-piece big band. The concert featured Trevor's original tunes, and an epic salute to his musical inspiration, Sammy Davis, Jr. Musical direction and arrangements were by Angelo Di Loreto and Bryan Carter. The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present the return of songwriter/performer Lance Horne to the series. The new show, 'Lance & the Ladies,' featured musical guests Leslie Gore, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Lauren Flanigan, Julia Murney, Gabrielle Stravelli, Stephanie d'Abruzzo, Julie Garnye, and Kate Rigg. On Monday, October 13, the Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomed back acclaimed vocalist Jenna esposito for a special Columbus Day salute to some of the most celebrated Italian-American singers in the history of American popular song. Scroll down for photos!

There was a happening on West 44th Street! For a week, Chita Rivera brought her joyful, razzle-dazzling nightclub act to Birdland, which she calls her favorite room in the city. “These walls are filled with the best music! Playing Birdland just makes me feel cool,” she proclaimed. As if her iconic Broadway career wasn't cool enough, “Chita's Back” was a concert for the history books – with the ever-youthful legend in fine fettle; singing, dancing and telling some of the best insider stories any theater-lover could hope for. Material from Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, West Side Story and The Visitwere included, as well as a James Taylor duet with daughter, Lisa Mordente. The swinging was band led by guitarist/percussionist Michael Croiter, with Michael Patrick Walker on piano, Jim Donica on bass, and Dan Willis on saxophone.

On Monday night, funny lady Christine Pedi got to show off her musical chops as she celebrated the release of her new CD, 'Good To Mama' as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series. She belted, she purred, she joked, she duetted with legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, and she showed off her vast array of famous voices to the delight of a packed house.
