The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Broadway singer/actor Max von Essen in concert on Monday, April 30. Mr. von Essen, currently starring in the hit Broadway production of Anastasia, along with his musical director, the incomparable Billy Stritch, brought an old fashioned new show celebrating the best of Broadway and the American songbook.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present singer Maureen McGovern, who stormed the historic stage in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of her theme song, "The Morning After.' The song, which won the Oscar for Best Song of the Year in 1973, became an international Gold Record and garnered Ms. McGovern a Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present Gunhild Carling, known as Sweden's 'Queen of Swing,' at the club on Sunday, April 22. Ms. Carling absolutely captivated the sold-out house, eliciting many standing ovations and an old-school New Orleans parade through the venue.

Marilyn Maye proudly celebrated her 90th birthday on April 10th by starting the run of her latest show at Feinstein's/54Below. It would be an understatement to say she blew the roof off the sold out room on opening night. (people said it was the loudest cheering they'd ever heard in the club).

On Monday, April 9, she threw an onstage celebration of the music and magic of the one and only Elvis Presley. Songs included "Blue Suede Shoes," "Viva Las Vegas," and "If I Can Dream."

On Sunday and Monday nights, Broadway/television star Anita Gillette had a ball celebrating Irving Berlin. Of course, she sang many Berlin standards, and a few unearthed gems. But that's not what made the evening extra-special. You see, Anita had a real-life friendship with the composer. It all started during the creation of a Broadway show called Mr. President, written by Berlin, and starring Gillette.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Tony-nominated singer/actor Constantine Maroulis in concert for one night only on Monday, March 19. Constantine Maroulis is a world-renowned actor, producer, singer and songwriter best known for his Tony-nominated performance in Rock of Ages and his epic run as a finalist during the heyday of 'American Idol.' At his first Birdland solo outing, he performed an intimate evening of originals, Broadway favorites and stripped-down rock & roll classics like you've never heard them before. Joshua Stephen Kartes was musical director of the concert.

Maxine Linehan brought a St. Patrick's EVE pride in her Irish roots to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage with her show "One: The Songs of U2". A veteran of numerous performances at the club, this was her 3rd incarnation of the tribute show in the venue.
Directed by Scott Siegel, the evening's band consisted of Ryan Shirar (MD/Arranger/Pianist), Ben Lively (Violin), Sarah Hewitt-Roth (cello), Kate Spingarn (Cello), Corey Shutzer (Bass), Clayton Craddock (Drums), & Andrew Koss (Guitar).
The evening kicked off with "Beautiful Day" followed immediately by celebrating with "New York".

The Broadway at Birdland presented the Manhattan return of singer Lorna Dallas, who appeared on the historic stage on Mondaynight. After a two-decade absence, internationally acclaimed West End and New York legend Lorna Dallas returns to the world of cabaret with her new show, "Home Again," directed by Barry Kleinbort with Christopher Denny on piano. In "Home Again," Ms. Dallas performed beloved classics by Kern and Gershwin, alongside little-known gems by Kander, Ebb and Jerry Herman.

Jim Caruso, host of Jim Caruso's Cast Party has been throwing a party at Birdland every Monday night for the past fifteen years, and needless to say, the soirée has fallen on his birthday a handful of times. Like this Monday, February 5. Cast Party became his party, and dozens of showbiz pals came to serenade him.
