You can’t say Jim Caruso’s Cast Party hasn’t had staying power! Every Monday night for the past eighteen years, musical talent has been celebrated on the Birdland stage. Superstars, up-and-comers, Broadway legends, jazzers and cabaret divas have all been in the spotlight and taken a turn at the grand piano.
The crowd was treated to seventy minutes of beloved holiday standards, bawdy parodies, signature story-telling, and high-energy Fosse choreography that have all come to mean “Let’s Christmas!”

On Monday, November 29, Robbie Rozelle made his Birdland debut with “The Next One,” a carefully curated evening of chaos celebrating his 45th birthday. “The Next One” was created for every person who has ever told the comedian “I can’t make it, but I’ll be at the next one.” Musical direction and arrangements by Yasuhiko Fukuoka, with Wes Bourland on bass, Mike Lunroe on drums, Johnny Wise on violin, Samuel Quiggins on cello, and David Ashton on reeds.
On November 15, singer Natalie Douglas resumed her smash monthly residency as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series with a new edition of her hit series entitled “Tributes.” In this particular concert, Ms. Douglas celebrated the work of singer/songwriter James Taylor.

The Broadway cast of COMPANY took the Birdland stage on Monday, September 20 with a benefit concert for Darkness RISING. The Darkness RISING project provides direct mental health resources for the community, as well as for Broadway show company members.
Carole J. Bufford returned to the Birdland stage with 'Poets and Pickers,” celebrating the work of some of the world’s most unique storytellers in song. Featuring Peter Calo on guitar and Chris Marshak on drums, Carole performed songs by Paul Simon, Randy Newman, Irving Berlin, Bobbie Gentry, Cole Porter, Johnny Cash, John Prine, and more.
