East Lynne To Officially Move Into Clemans Theater

After years of multi-million-dollar renovations, East Lynne Theater Company, Cape May's award-winning Equity Professional Theater, will officially be handed over the keys to the former Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) by the city of Cape May in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 22. The building will now publicly be called the Clemans Theater for the Arts at the Allen AME Church.

Review: LEND ME A SOPRANO at The Wimberley Playhouse

From April 25 to May 18, The Wimberley Playhouse proudly presents LEND ME A SOPRANO, Ken Ludwig’s side-splitting comedy adapted from his beloved hit Lend Me a Tenor. Set in 1934, the story is set in a hotel room while the Cleveland Grand Opera Company waits in anticipation of a one-night-only performance by world-famous soprano Elena Firenzi, starring as Carmen.

This new production from director Lucy Bailey is a visual feast of delights. Adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig in 2017, this is the first time there’s been a UK Tour of the infamous play and Bailey has given it the first-class treatment.

I like to write all the time and generally write two plays a year, just because I take very seriously the notion of this being my profession. I would say playwright is spelled WRIGHT [write]. It's like a Cartwright or a wheelwright. It's somebody who rolls up their sleeves and does their work.
