The Barn Theatre has announced their next two virtual musical theatre concerts celebrating the music of the award-winning musical theatre writing team Amies & Clements (Stephanie Jayne Amies and Teddy Clements) and musical theatre playwright, lyricist and director Annabel Mutale Reed.

There are a handful of musicals that I firmly believe every self-proclaimed theatre lover needs to see, if for no other reason, to say they've seen it. Among the ranks are LES MISERABLES, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, WEST SIDE STORY, I think it's now pretty safe to add WICKED to the list, and MISS SAIGON. They're classics, if you will. New Orleans is lucky enough to have two of these as part of the 2019-2020 Broadway Across America season, and gracing us this coming week is none other than MISS SAIGON.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that LEMPICKA, which ran at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer, is in the midst of a developmental lab. The Broadway-bound musical, directed by Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin, with music by Matt Gould and book and lyrics by Carson Kreitzer, starred Eden Espinosa, Amber Iman, Nicholas Belton, Jon Jon Briones, T. Oliver Reid, Darlesia Cearcy, Natalie Joy Johnson, and Kendyl Ito.

Christian Rey Marbella has recently taken over as The Engineer on the UK tour of Miss Saigon. This is his tenth year of being involved with the show and this UK tour marks his fifth production. He has been in Miss Saigon in Manila, on the Asian tour, on the first UK tour, the second UK tour, and was the alternate Engineer in the West End revival in 2014. He has also performed in theatre in the US and his native Philippines.

ANNIE, this year's Hollywood Bowl Summer Musical, will be performed by an all-star cast July 27, 28 and 29. Each year, a condensed version of a full-length Broadway musical corrals name performers from theatre, television and music with crazy, busy schedules that normally wouldn't be available for a full musical schedule commitment. We have the opportunity to chat with Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, who will be playing Grace Farrell in this production.
