The Crickets will celebrate the 65th anniversary of their very first hit song this year, “That’ll Be The Day,” the iconic rock and roll classic written by Buddy Holly and Jerry Allison (produced by Norman Petty, who also received songwriting credit). To help kick off the yearlong celebration, CBS Sunday Morning will air a profile on the band on January 9, 2022.

Heifetz recorded with an all-star band of legendary musicians including Dennis Crouch (Time Jumpers), Jeff Taylor (Time Jumpers), Jimmy Lester (Los Straitjackets), Jack Lawr​​ence (Raconteurs), and JJ Tourville (Deslondes.) Carole J. Bufford returned to the Birdland stage with 'Poets and Pickers,” celebrating the work of some of the world’s most unique storytellers in song. Featuring Peter Calo on guitar and Chris Marshak on drums, Carole performed songs by Paul Simon, Randy Newman, Irving Berlin, Bobbie Gentry, Cole Porter, Johnny Cash, John Prine, and more.

Billy Prine is a natural-born storyteller just like his late, great brother John Prine was a natural-born songwriter.  A Chicago native of the sixties, Billy Prine grew up performing blues and rock bands, later moving to California in pursuit of a music career.
