Review: Jeanna De Waal Dazzles in ANYTHING GOES at The Muny

ANYTHING GOES is a perfect production to end the Muny season. It is filled with energetic dancing, superb performances, lots of laughs, and that splendid Cole Porter score. Marcia Milgrom Dodge, her cast, and crew have knocked it out of the park. It’s not just a hit, it’s a home run!

Leslie Uggams, Andrea Martin, & More Join THE GILDED AGE Season 3

A slew of new names have joined the third season of HBO's hit drama The Gilded Age. Bill Camp (Broadway's The Crucible), Merritt Wever, Leslie Uggams, and Lisagay Hamilton will all play key roles in Season 3's ensemble. Additionally, Tony Award winner Andrea Martin is set to portray a medium named Madame Dashkova.

Blake Allen's INSOMNIA to Receive Recording Featuring Jeanna de Waal and Cree Carrico

Allen’s junior full-length record chronicles a night of an insomniac narrator and was inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story “Sleep and Waking” originally penned in 1934. The two multi-movement works presented on the album, which features Broadway Star Jeanna de Waal as “Voice” (Sweeney Todd, Diana: The Musical), Cree Carrico as “Soprano”, and the acclaimed Argus Quartet conducted by Allen originally premiered in 2022 at Carnegie Hall.

NEWSIES & More Lead BroadwayWorld's St. Louis Summer 2024 Top Picks

The 2024 summer theatre season is already in full swing in St. Louis, Missouri, with three exceptional comedy-dramas opening last week. St. Louis stages opened their 2024 season with STEEL MAGNOLIAS starring a mostly local cast. Broadway World called the Stages St. Louis production “wonderfully funny – creating contagious uncontrollable laughter.”  Albion Theatre opened a terrific production of Alan Ayckbourn’s WOMAN IN MIND with a tour-de-force performance from Emily Baker in the lead role. Baker is on stage the entire production. Stray Dog Theatre had audiences laughing out loud with their production of David Lindsay-Abaire's RIPCORD. All three productions run through the end of June. The most anticipated productions of the remaining summer season include shows at The Muny, Stages St. Louis, and The New Jewish Theatre.

Interview: Austen Danielle Bohmer and Lauren Samuels on Bringing WICKED to Toronto

From June 5th until July 24th, the touring production of the hit Broadway Musical WICKED will be at Mirvish’s Princess of Wales Theatre. For over 20 years now, the songs, comedy, message, and heart of this musical have been captivating audiences with 'The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz.' Broadway World had the opportunity to chat with leads Austen Danielle Bohmer and Lauren Samuels about what it is like joining this juggernaut of a show, adjusting to life on tour, getting to be in WICKED at the same time that the much anticipated movie comes out, and what this show, these characters, and their powerful friendship means to them.
