Ring of Keys, a 501(c)3 artist service organization and the only national network of queer women, trans, and gender non-conforming professional artists working on and offstage in musical theatre, has announced The Queering the Canon Concert Series building off the success of 2020’s Queering the Canon concert at Joe’s Pub.

Following the success of their two previous fundraisers for Mental Health America and Maestra Music, Elspeth Collard & Sam Rosenblatt have written and produced a celebration of queer joy and love.

Season Two of The Latest Draft Podcast premieres this Friday, February 12. After receiving dozens of submissions, the producers narrowed down the season to eight podcast musicals and 20 cabaret songs.

While playing the waiting game, Jamie and Eric are making sure to keep their optimism up, their minds active and their projects ready for a comeback after Covid.

With backup cookies played by Badia Farha (School of Rock), Cori Jaskier, Kennedy Kanagawa, MinJi Kim, Luana Psaros, and Dani Weiner and a cameo by Broadway lyricist Mindi Dickstein (who inspired the song), the piece is about quarantine snacking. Orchestrations are by Elspeth Collard.

An all-Broadway cast will present new musical The Valley in concert starring Desi Oakley (Waitress, Chicago, Les Misérables, Wicked), Kara Lindsay (Wicked, Newsies, Beautiful), Tiffany Mann (Be More Chill, Waitress), Kevin Massey (Tarzan, Memphis, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Brittney Johnson (Wicked, Les Misérables), Jelani Remy (Ain't Too Proud, The Lion King), and Devin Ilaw (Miss Saigon, Les Misérables).

Broadway's Future Songbook Series - presented by Arts and Artists of Tomorrow continues its season on Monday, December 16th in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street. Broadway legend (and Connecticut resident) Stephen Schwartz performed for over 100 people at a private home in Westport as part of a benefit to support not-for-profit Westport-based arts organization JIB Productions. JIB brings the Play With Your Food lunchtime playreadings series and SHORT CUTS Film Festival to Fairfield County, CT each year and was founded by Artistic Director Carole Schweid. Schweid's connection to Stephen Schwartz goes back decades to when she performed in the national tour of Pippin so it felt natural to reach out to her Connecticut 'neighbor' to help raise funds for her performing and visual arts organization.

Shyvonne Stewart, Izzy Figueroa, and Sarah Beth Pfeifer will make a special appearance at the previously announced Feinstein's/54 Below premiere of Monstersongs, written by Rob Rokicki, composer of Broadway's The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Audience members who are torn between whether to see the Greek mythology monsters of Percy Jackson or the vampires and witches of Monstersongs needn't worry; much like the talented cast members mentioned above, they can be a part of both.
