As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Ivo van Hove has revealed details about the changes he has made for his reimagined production West Side Story is coming to Broadway this season, including cutting two iconic moments from the original production: the 'Somewhere' ballet and 'I Feel Pretty,' making the show run one act, with no intermission. Ivo Van Hove's reimagined West Side Story is coming to Broadway this season. In a new interview with Vogue, he has revealed some of the changes he has made, including cutting two iconic moments from the original production.

West Side Story: Classic. Powerful. Groundbreaking. Heartbreaking.  All words that have been used to describe one of Broadway's most memorable and iconic pieces of musical theatre.  The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in collaboration with Broadway Palm will present West Side Story as the first production in their brand-new Broadway at the LPAC series.  The show will run from November 14th through December 1st.

The Barbican today announces its full January to August 2020 Theatre and Dance programme in the Barbican Theatre and The Pit. Tickets go on sale to Barbican Members Plus on Friday 25 October 2019 and to Barbican Members on Monday 28 October 2019. From only £54, Barbican Members get priority booking, discounted tickets (subject to availability) and pay no booking fees. They can also take advantage of exclusive behind-the-scenes events and the Members' Lounge. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday 1 November 2019.

Inspired by William Shakespeare's famous play, Romeo & Juliet, West Side Story is set in the Upper West Side neighborhood of New York City in the mid-1950s. The story explores the rivalry between two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The Jets, a white gang, and the Sharks, who are immigrants from Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, Tony, a former member of the Jets and best friend of the gang's leader, Riff, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks.

Lazarus is the stage sequel to the 1976 movie: The Man Who Fell To Earth which starred David Bowie. To know what delirium you just entered in the opening scene in LAZARUS, it might have been a must to see the movie at least once before you see this show. For argument's sake, I had not.

I've recently had the great pleasure of interviewing actress Addie Morales, who is currently in rehearsals for North Carolina Theatre's upcoming production of West Side Story, where she'll be starring in the coveted role of Maria. Addie has previously played the role numerous times regionally at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Barrington Stage Company, Casa Mañana, and New London Barn. Her other regional credits include Tick, Tick, Boom at Playhouse Square and The Buddy Holly Story at Casa Mañana.

A new adaptation of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper opened this weekend at IRT theater in Greenwich Village. The multimedia staging will run until Oct 13th.

Inspired by true events at 821 6th Avenue from 1957 - 1965,  (A)loft Modulation will feature a live jazz band led by saxophonist Jonathan Beshay that will improvise nightly. Opening Night is tonight, Thursday October 3rd. This limited Off-Broadway engagement runs through Sunday, October 27th.
