Production Begins on Season Two of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES; Will Feature Songs From BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Production has resumed in Salt Lake City on the second season of the popular Disney+ series 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' as the East High drama students prepare to perform 'Beauty and the Beast' as their Spring musical. Slated for a late 2020 debut on Disney+, the second season will include reimagined musical numbers from both the 'High School Musical' movies and the stage production of 'Beauty and the Beast,' in addition to brand-new songs that join hits from season one like 'Born to Be Brave' and 'Just for a Moment.'

Disney+ has renewed the highly anticipated music-filled, comedic series 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' ahead of its debut on Disney+ TUESDAY, NOV. 12. Production on season two will resume early next year in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This afternoon, Disney+ made its D23 Expo debut with its first-ever showcase presentation, announcing six new series in development and revealing key details about the highly anticipated streaming service to an enthusiastic audience at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim. The event showcased the sweeping array of talent with in-person and video appearances from the stars of Disney+'s slate of originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic and included sneak peeks, trailer premieres, and exclusive news about the service and its upcoming projects. Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who stars in the Disney+ original film “Lady and the Tramp,” hosted the lively presentation, welcoming Kevin Mayer, chairman, Direct-to-Consumer & International, to the stage to kick off the show.

'Andi Mack,' a series hailed for inspiring social change, returns with its final episodes every Friday beginning JUNE 21 through JULY 26 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT) on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. Two episodes will be presented on Friday, June 21.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) today announced that Ravi Ahuja will join the senior leadership team of Walt Disney Television upon the close of the 21st Century Fox acquisition as president, Business Operations, and chief financial officer. In this role, Ahuja will oversee finance, strategic planning, business development, affiliate sales & distribution, technology, music affairs, consumer insights and labor relations for the division.

Production is underway in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the highly anticipated, innovative and re-invented 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' for Disney+, The Walt Disney Company's upcoming streaming service. The series is developed and executive produced by Tim Federle ('Ferdinand'), alongside showrunner and executive producer Oliver Goldstick ('Pretty Little Liars,' 'Ugly Betty'). Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush (the original 'High School Musical' trilogy) are also executive producers. Sundance Film Festival-nominated film, television and music video director Tamra Davis ('Empire,' 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend') is directing the first three episodes. The choreographer is Zach Woodlee ('Glee,' 'Dumplin'').

'ZOMBIES 2,' the highly anticipated sequel to Disney's 'ZOMBIES,' a movie that captivated kids and families, will begin production in spring with stars Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim reprising their marquee roles as Addison and Zed. The announcement was made today during a presentation to advertisers by Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. 'ZOMBIES' was cable television's #1-rated telecast among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for the year (2018).

Eunetta T. Boone Joins RAVEN'S HOME as Executive Producer

Accomplished writer/producer Eunetta T. Boone has joined Disney Channel's hit sitcom 'Raven's Home' as executive producer and showrunner for its third season. She most recently was a consultant on the series, working closely with its executive producer and star Raven-Symoné. Emmy®-nominated writer/producer Warren Hutcherson ('Dr. Ken,' 'The Bernie Mac Show') also joins the creative team as co-executive producer for the series. Production for season three is underway and will premiere in 2019.

Joshua Bassett has been cast in the lead role of the highly anticipated 'High School Musical: The Musical,' a series for Disney's upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, which is set to launch in late 2019.  It is based on the iconic Emmy Award-winning 'High School Musical' franchise.  The series will be filmed in Salt Lake City, Utah, in a single camera documentary style.

The hit series 'Andi Mack' has been renewed for a third season, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide.  The cast – Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Lilan Bowden, Joshua Rush, Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel – got the news while on ABC's 'Good Morning America' today.  The series is lauded as a heartwarming, diverse coming-of-age story about the most important things in any young person's life — family and friends, and the journey of self-discovery. It will resume filming soon in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Disney Channel Announces DESCENDANTS 3

A legion of “Descendants” fans received confirmation of the long-awaited news of a “Descendants 3” movie tonight, via an interstitial that aired during a programming event for Disney's “ZOMBIES” on Disney Channel. The intriguing message, featuring “Mal” (daughter of Maleficent), alludes to a new villain character – Mal's father – joining the hugely popular story of the teenage sons and daughters of Disney's most infamous villains. Loyal fans have suspected and even demanded a “trequel” and have skillfully tracked clues across social media and the internet of recent pre-production activities in Vancouver, Canada. “Descendants 3” will begin production there in summer for a debut next year on Disney Channel.
