Grey Gardens, the 2007 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical opened in Chicago on Friday, November 21, 2008, at the Northlight Theatre, and it?s one heck of a good piece of theater and history.

Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans announce the Chicago premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical Grey Gardens, book by Doug Wright, lyrics by Michael Korie and music by Scott Frankel. The production, directed by BJ Jones with musical direction by Doug Peck, choreography by Marla Lampert and featuring Hollis Resnik, Tempe Thomas and Ann Whitney, has already been extended and will now run November 12-December 28, 2008, at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.

Today, the Jefferson Awards announced the winners among the 150 nominees in 35 categories for Chicago Equity theatrical productions which opened between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008. Beginning with this season, the Jeff Awards is acknowledging the work of Large and Midsize theatres in separate categories for productions and technical elements.

Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Dawn Helsing announce the addition of new performances dates for the Chicago Premiere production of Caroline, or Change by Tony Award-winner Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori, directed by Charles Newell. TimeLine Theatre Company to remount its award-winning production of the Musical 'FIORELLO!'

Northlight Theatre's 2008-09 Season includes the Chicago Premieres of: The Tony Award-winning musical 'Grey Gardens'; Theresa Rebeck's 'Mauritius'; Martin McDonagh's 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore'; Jeffrey Hatcher's 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'; and the World Premiere Of Kenneth Lin's 'Po' Boy Tango'.

Court Theatre continues its 53rd season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical, Carousel, directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell with musical direction by Doug Peck. The co-production with Long Wharf Theatre runs March 6 - April 13, 2008, at Court Theatre (5535 S. Ellis Ave). The official press opening is Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 8PM.

Porchlight Music Theatre presents a musical tribute to Tony-Award winning composer and lyricist, Maury Yeston. This magical night of music from the creator of Grand Hotel, Phantom, Nine and Titanic starring some of Chicago's musical theatre and cabaret stars, will take place on Monday, February 11 at 7:30PM at the Lakeshore Theater, 3175 N. Broadway, Chicago. The evening will include performances by cast members from Altar Boyz, Jersey Boys and Wicked.
