This very special evening of cabaret at Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood will feature performances by Foa and some of his most talented friends, including Broadway favorites Alex Ellis, Carly Hughes, Chris Mann, and Adam Pascal. Also, music group The Levenbirds have been set to make a special appearance. The family-friendly fun of Lythgoe Family Productions' annual holiday British Panto returns to the Laguna Playhouse, this time with the reimagined Yuletide re-telling of PETER PAN & TINKER BELL: A PIRATE'S CHRISTMAS, which continues through December 29, 2019 in the city of Laguna Beach. Overall, the show is an amusing, energetic Panto, though admittedly not as over-the-top as the two previous holiday Panto's that I have seen staged here. Still, the show had me smiling the whole time, and it's safe to say that you and your family will like sharing the experience, too.

From the family behind TV's American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, Lythgoe Family Panto produces live, interactive musical theater for the whole family. Panto is a uniquely British holiday theatrical tradition dating back to the 1700s, taking classic fairy tales and blending them with pop culture and music, with comedic scripts, improvised moments and local references. Television, film and theatre triple-threat Garrett Clayton will debut his headlining cabaret show IT TAKES THREE at the Catalina Jazz Club June 18, 2019. Teaming up with his BFFs - fellow triple threats themselves - Ashley Argota and Desi Dennis-Dylan, Garrett plans to entertain and wow you with their harmonic vocals, jazz hands and lots of heart. Garrett managed to spare a little time for me on the phone Tony Awards weekend.

Trans Voices Cabaret CHI has announced a venue change to Steppenwolf to be part of their LookOut series. TVCChi will begin their venture with the series on Monday, June 24th, 2019 at 7pm in the 1700 space, to celebrate pride as well as their one year anniversary.

The one-night-only concert took place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

Dear Readers, it has been one crazy year with some amazing theater. You know it's true. We've had dead teens riding a roller coaster, demonic puppets, and an ageless guy with a picture of himself in his attic. And, of course, a hip-hop founding father sweeping through town. But let's not talk about the juggernaut when we have such amazing things right here that blew us all away. At least they blew me away. So, let's talk about what blew me away this past year and what I have chosen to give my BWW 2018 Seattle Critic's Choice Awards (Jay's Picks) to (not to mention all those honorable mentions since often I can't limit myself to just one).
