Musical theatre royalty paid tribute to lyricist Don Black at the Royal Festival Hall last night as he celebrated 50 years in showbiz.

Queen Theatrical Productions, Tribeca Theatrical Productions, Phil Mcintyre Entertainment and NETworks Presentations will launch the first North American tour of Queen and Ben Elton's We Will Rock You. The 'rock theatrical', built around 24 of Queen's biggest hits, will debut its national tour in Baltimore, MD, at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, in October 2013. The cast features Brian Justin Crum as Galileo, Ruby Lewis as Scaramouche, Jacqueline Arnold as Killer Queen, P.J. Griffithas Kashoggi, Ryan Knowles as Pop, Erica Peckas Oz and Jared Zirilli as Britney. JP Productions today announced a third and final leg to the current UK tour of smash-hit Tony Award winning Broadway musical 'Rent'. Celebrating 20 years since its first staged performance, West End leading lady and Broadway star Kerry Ellis will return to the role of 'Mimi' in this iconic concert version of the smash-hit musical.

While We Will Rock You musical creators Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor and writer Ben Elton spend time in New York with co-producer Robert de Niro for final cast and band auditions for the show's North American national tour which will open in October in Baltimore, the London production celebrates its 11th birthday tomorrow evening, May 14.

Widely recognised as one of the leading ladies of the West End, Kerry Ellis embarked on the biggest solo performance of her career at the London Palladium. The evening promised to showcase songs from her most famous roles, her personal favourites and some surprises along the way.
