Big musical show at Vadstena Castle:
London changed everything for the musical duo

Brian May and Andrew Lloyd Webber succeeded in their gamble, on two
unknown artists. The decisions in London changed the lives of the Swedes.
Now Emmi Christensson and Peter Johansson pay tribute to the musicals with a capital M.

In Sweden, Emmi Christensson and Peter Johansson were not commenly heard of. But after their public successes in London - with The Phantom of the Opera and We Will Rock You respectively - both got the attention and became popular by Swedish musical producers. The then 29-year-old Emmi Christensson had an English success and was recruited from Her Majesty's Theatre to Stockholm, as Christine in The Phantom of the Circus to play aginst Peter Jöback. Peter Johansson, who played the lead role of Galileo in We Will Rock You, also left London and moved to Stockholm, for musicals such as Rock of Ages and Jersey Boys.

This summer, the duo will highlight composers such as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim and Swedes Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. The songs from their international breakthrough in London are self-written in the repertoire. Peter Johansson's participation will include both We are the Champion and I want to break free. In other words, Christensson will not shy away from musical classics such as "Think of me" and "The point of no return". There will also be some newer or lesser-known musical songs in the extensive setlist.

- Right now we are thinking about songs from "Så som i himmelen" and "The curious case of Benjamin Button", reveals Emmi.

With them on stage is an elegant musical orchestra conducted by Johannes Annfält and a choir of four. 
Both Emmi and Peter are looking forward to the concerts in the middle of summer.
- It's so wonderful with outdoor concerts when the audience sits under the open sky. It gets a nice summer evening feeling, we promise sun already now, says Peter.
The package tour "Musical Evening" was created in 2022 on a smaller scale, as a tribute to both songwriters and musical audiences. The venture was an immediate success. The idea was as simple as it was successful - to perform the best songs from the biggest musicals.
