Theatre By The Sea owner and producer Bill Hanney has announced the 2026 Summer Schedule, which will include four beloved musicals. The season will open with Little Shop of Horrors.

North Shore Music Theatre will present the 36th anniversary production of A Christmas Carol – A Musical Ghost Story, December 4–21, 2025. The beloved Beverly holiday tradition stars David Coffee and Cheryl McMahon and features direction by Kevin P. Hill.

North Shore Music Theatre will stage RENT for the first time September 16–28, 2025. Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning musical follows a year in the lives of artists in New York’s East Village, featuring iconic songs including “Seasons of Love,” “La Vie Bohème,” and “Take Me or Leave Me.” Watch video from the production!

 In celebration of 92 years of Theatre By The Sea, owner and producer Bill Hanney is proud to present Heartbreak Hotel, the stage musical which celebrates the life and music of Elvis Presley. Heartbreak Hotel will be presented from August 20 – September 14, 2025.

When “Grease” premiered in 1971, the Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey musical about working-class teenagers at a Midwestern high school in the late 1950s was a gritty satire, first performed at a Chicago nightclub.

Theatre By The Sea will continue its 92nd season with the high-energy Broadway hit Hairspray, running from July 23 through August 16, 2025. The production marks the return of the beloved musical to the Wakefield stage, where it was last seen in 2011.
