Captivating, heartwarming, colorful, imaginative and down-right magical, Nashville Children’s Theatre’s world premiere production – it’s 19th in the past few years since executive artistic director Ernie Nolan’s arrival – of the theatre for young audiences version of Disney-Pixar’s Finding Nemo is just the latest theatrical hit from the venerable Nashville institution.

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center at Academy Park (WCPAC) and Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) are excited to share cast details for the upcoming concert performance of new musical Johnny & the Devil's Box.

The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) is continuing to work with New Musical Theater Nashville (NMTN) running monthly gatherings for songwriters and playwrights in Nashville writing new musicals. Based on the successful JMF Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals, the evening salons are a peer to peer program. JMF's and NMTN's goal is to help establish and grow the musical theater writing community in the Nashville area.

JOHNNY & the DEVIL’S BOX a new bluegrass musical by Douglas Waterbury-Tieman has proven to be a box office hit.  Currently making its regional premiere in Crossville, Tennessee at the Cumberland County Playhouse the show has not only sold out but called for an added matinee performance on December 16th. The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) has joined forces with New Musical Theater Nashville (NMTN) to create a new monthly gathering for songwriters and playwrights in the Nashville area interested in creating new musicals.

Wielding his fiery fiddle, composer/performer Douglas Waterbury-Tieman (THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM), is joined by his wife Annabelle Fox (DISNEY'S FREAKY FRIDAY), along with Jennifer Fouché (CHICKEN & BISCUITS), Larry Tobias (THE GRAND TOUR), Erikka Walsh (ONCE), and Maggie Stallings (KINKY BOOTS), for a concert version of the foot-stompin' new musical JOHNNY & the DEVIL'S BOX.

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of the 29th installment of its virtual New Works Series on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 at 7PM EDT, featuring excerpts from the new musicals Ramona and Johnny and The Devil's Box. The live 45-minute presentation will also feature a conversation with the writers and creative team.

The 13th season of New York Theatre Barn's signature New Works Series will launch on Monday, February 3rd, 2020, with exclusive pre-premieres of the new musicals Johnny & the Devil's Box and Burned. New York Theatre Barn serves as a home for new musicals during incubation.
