HartBeat Ensemble announced today an educational and artistic expansion of the 21 year old theatre company. Thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, HartBeat Ensemble welcomes Jeanika Browne-Springer to its staff in the newly-created educational role of Director of LifeLong Learning.

HartBeat Ensemble announces the complete lineup for 2019 WTF! (Women's Theatre Festival), a three-event series celebrating the artistic endeavors of women and non-binary playwrights. Joining the previously announced No Boxes Allowed by Tonille Simone Watkis are El Otro Lady del Destino (The Other Side of Destiny) by Wi-Moto Nyoka and School's Out, two one-act plays by Julia B. Rosenblatt.
The Playwriting Collective Announces Recipient of Ball Grant

The Playwriting Collective is proud to announce the recipient of the first annual $1000 Ball Grant as playwright Antu Yacob. In keeping with the mission statement of The Playwriting Collective, this grant is expressly designed for a writer who identifies as living in or emerging from a lower economic status. Antu is an excellent playwright whose work exemplifies the type of artistic voice that The Playwriting Collective champions. Her work is nuanced, resonant, and worthy of support.
