BIO
Sonia Mera is a Chilean-born actress based in NYC. Classically trained, Sonia studied at both HB Studio and T. Schreiber Studio in New York, as well as Fernando Gonzalez Academy in Santiago, Chile. She has performed in numerous film and theatrical productions in both English and Spanish, such as: 'Third Wing'; 'Chekhov's Women'; 'The House of Bernarda Alba'; 'To Die (or Not)'; '90 Miles of Separation'; 'The Demon and Sheila'; 'Hope'; among others.
Sonia was nominated for a 2020 ATI Award for both Best Actress in a Short Play and Best Production of a Short Play for her work in 'The Trapped Language of Love', winning the latter. She also received an Outstanding Supporting Performance nomination at FUERZAfest 2019 for her role of Rosa in 'A Taste of Loving Sea'. She has also written, produced and performed in her plays 'Brown' (NY Summerfest 2019) and 'Waiting for the Subway' (MicroTheater Festival 2019) for which she received audiences acclaim and excellent reviews.
