Birth Place: United States
This summer, "Ethel Sings" will mark my return to the NY stage after a slight thirty-seven year gap. I last appeared in the city of my birth in Lanford Wilson's original production of "The Hot l Baltimore" at Circle-in-the-Square and also in his "Lemon Sky" at the Chelsea Westside Theatre. After my first film, "All the Presidents Men", I ventured to L.A. for the summer but never made it back. The television series "Rich Man, Poor Man II", "The Tony Randall Show", "Crazy Like a Fox" and "Knots Landing" as well as many guest star roles and mini-series such as "The Blue and the Gray" kept me busy. I was also blessed to be in the cult comedy classic, "The InLaws" as Alan Arkin's daughter. Please see IMDB.com for complete film & television credits. After taking many years off to raise my kids I plunged back into the swim and have been active in theatre in Los Angeles. I've played Peter in Peter Pan several times: Portsmouth Musical Theatre, Sacramento Music Circus, and the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, but have since given up being hoisted aloft by uncertain but well-meaning stagehands. I recently did another Lanford Wilson play, "Angels Fall" at The Production Company, at which I am a member. I've also had the pleasure of appearing in three Inkwell Production shows: "Moment in the Sun" at the Matrix, "Old Glories" at the Zephyr and "A Heap of Livin'" at the Odyssey Theatre. My husband Doug McIntyre and I co-wrote, produced and directed an award winning documentary, "TRYING TO GET GOOD - the Jazz Odyssey of Jack Sheldon", now available on Amazon.com. I am currently in post-production on "Stillpoint: Live Inside a Zen Meditation Community". Feel free to connect with me @penpeyser or Facebook.com/PennyPeyserFanPage.
