Kritzerland Announces Two New Releases
Harvey Schmidt Plays Jones and Schmidt and STAGES will be the next two CD releases on the Kritzerland label.
Harvey Schmidt PLAYS JONES AND SCHMIDT
A delightful CD of great Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt songs, as played by the brilliant Harvey Schmidt. The CD was recorded in Mr. Schmidt's home studio on the occasion of his 75th birthday, and features both well-known and rare treasures from THE FANTASTICKS, 110 IN THE SHADE, I DO! I DO!, COLETTE COLLAGE, ROADSIDE, GROVER'S CORNERS, and CELEBRATION. The CD is a CELEBRATION - intoxicating, delightful, and filled with glorious melodies.STAGES: Original Cast Recording
STAGES, a musical by Bruce Kimmel, was written as a 50th anniversary show for the Los Angeles City College Theatre Arts Department in 1978. It was so successful there, that it was subsequently moved to the Matrix Theater, where it had a long, sold-out run. The show has since been performed many times around the U.S. The cast album was recorded for Varese Sarabande Records. Over the years, there have been many requests for its release on CD, and now seemed as good a time as any. The CD has been completely remixed (from the multi-tracks - all except the final five songs, which were missing. Those have been taken from the album masters, but have been completely cleaned up). The CD will also include a newly-recorded song, "Opposites," which was written after the recording was made, just prior to the move to The Matrix.STAGES features Randi Kallan, Sammy Williams (Tony Award-winner for A Chorus Line), Alan Abelew, Bruce Kimmel, Linden Waddell, M'Lisa MacLaren, Michael Byers, and Phil Clark.Because STAGES, even with the new song, runs only thirty-eight minutes, the complete Original Cast Recording of Kimmel's subsequent show, TOGETHER AGAIN, will be included as a bonus. TOGETHER AGAIN was done in Los Angeles in 1982, and the cast album was released on LP by Cerberus Records. The cast recording features Penny Peyser (The In-Laws, The Frisco Kid), Marsha Kramer (Peter Pan with Sandy Duncan, Jeff Maxwell (M*A*S*H), Alan Abelew, Rick Waln, Bruce Kimmel, Deborah Tilton, and Debbie Moradzadeh. It's two cast albums for the price of one.Preorders will begin on August 15th, and the CD will be shipped to Kritzerland customers within the first two weeks of September, at least one to two weeks prior to the official street date.Kritzerland CDs are available at select stores around the world, as well as most online CD venues, along with digital download stores such as iTunes and CDBaby. For more information, visit http://www.kritzerland.com
