Review: THE CAKE at Crescent City Stage
by Tara Bennett - Jun 13, 2024
THE CAKE, receiving its regional premiere, is the latest offering from Crescent City Stage and is now running now through June 16th. There are four more chances to experience this rich, emotional cultural reflection, which was a delight for this critic during Pride in Louisiana.

What you'll find at the end of a long, foggy hall with ominous flickering lights is the home of Lurie and June Walker. Come on in when you get here. Walk across the creaky kitchen floor and take a seat in one of the old wooden chairs along the walls. Don't mind the noises. Don't worry about those sharp flashes of light. You're safe. You're in a a?oegooda??...

BWW Review: THE HEIRESS at Arena Stage
by Rachael F. Goldberg - Feb 18, 2019
Perhaps the biggest problem with 'The Heiress' is that it's difficult to invest in. It's hard to root for Catherine beyond hoping she tells Morris off, and that's more about dislike of him than support for her. After all, we can all get behind telling off a bad ex. It's just a shame that The Heiress doesn't give us the opportunity to go deeper than that.
