Originally from Malta, Hollie moved to the UK in 2007 after winning the Television Musical Theatre Competition, L-Isfida. The prize was a three-year scholarship to train at BodyWork Company Dance Studios in Cambridge, where she was the winner of the award for Outstanding Musical Theatre Artist. She furthered her training at the Royal Academy of Music, funded by the Malta Arts Scholarship and the Janatha Stubbs Foundation.
Hollie is an established actress, singer and dancer, having performed in London's West End and across the UK in various hit musicals including Calamity Jane (UK Tour), Cabaret (Original West End Revival Cast, Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse); On Your Feet! (Original West End Cast, London Coliseum & UK Tour); Crazy for You (Watermill & UK Tour); The Sessions: The Beatles at Abbey Road (Royal Albert Hall & UK Arena Tour); The Ballad of Rudy (Manchester Royal Exchange); Hot Stuff (Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch); West Side Story (Cork Opera House); Fame - The Musical (Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage).
Alongside performing, she has worked as a writer, director, choreographer, musical director, musical supervisor, musician, and vocal arranger, in addition to being employed as a singing teacher at a number of the UK's leading performance institutions.
Hollie’s creative credits include Musical Director and Associate Musical Supervisor for The Choir of Man (West End, Arts Centre Melbourne, Tampa Straz Center, Niagara Avalon Theatre, Coventry Assembly Garden Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Daegu International Music Festival, Norwegian Escape & Norwegian Encore); Musical Director & Vocal Arranger for A Very Bublé Christmas (Kilworth House) and A Grand Night for Singing (Swansea Grand Theatre); Show Musical Director for Jack and the Beanstalk (Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch); Tap Choreographer for Beauty and the Beast (Watford Palace).
As a songwriter, Hollie's music has been compared to the likes of Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor. Hollie's single “Violet” was played on BBC Radio 2, by Phil Williams sitting in for OJ Borg, and BBC Radio Kent on Abbie Mac’s BBC Music Introducing programme. Hollie has co-written and recorded the vocals for several Dance and Latin tracks with producer Tony Brown, which feature in numerous episodes of the Netflix Docuseries, Hype House. She has also written the book, music and lyrics of brand-new musical, YOU, ME & the rest of the world, which featured at West End Live in June 2024. In October 2024, the project received Arts Council Malta funding for a research and development workshop.
A multi-instrumentalist, Hollie possesses an ATCL Diploma in Solo Piano, in addition to playing the saxophone, guitar, drums, double bass, clarinet, accordion and ukulele. She was awarded the Trinity College London Silver Medal for Piano in both 2004 and 2006, and was nominated for Outstanding Female Dance Performer at the Latin UK Awards in 2019. In 2024, Hollie was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music by the Honours Committee. Associateship is awarded to alumni of the Academy who have distinguished themselves in the music profession and made a significant contribution in their particular field.
