 This spring, celebrating its 40th anniversary as an artist residency program, Ucross welcomed 55 visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers and interdisciplinary artists from across North America to its historic 20,000-acre ranch in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains in northern Wyoming.

​​​​​​Ucross today announced that Anne Pendergast of Big Horn, Wyoming, has joined the artist residency program's Board of Trustees. Born and raised in Maine, Pendergast earned a BA from Bowdoin College and an MS in geology from Oregon State University, then moved to Wyoming in 1983 to work with an oil and gas exploration company in Casper. She served on the Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy Wyoming for 16 years and the National Advisory Council for The Brinton Museum for six years.

Joy Harjo accepted the Ucross Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts at the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center in Sheridan, Wyoming, on Saturday, February 25. Presented by Ucross, the renowned artist residency program, the award recognizes an individual’s extraordinary impact on the nation’s arts and letters.

Ucross, the renowned artist residency program in northern Wyoming, will present the internationally acclaimed performer, musician and writer Joy Harjo with the Ucross Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts during her performance at the WYO Theater in Sheridan, Wyoming, on Saturday, February 25

Acclaimed storytelling nonprofit The Moth has announced details for their annual fundraising gala, Full Bloom: The 2023 Moth Ball. Taking place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on Tuesday, May 23rd, this year's gathering will honor award-winning comedian and longtime Moth friend and storyteller, Hasan Minhaj. Tickets start at $500 and are on sale now.  

Gilda's LaughFest, presented by Gun Lake Casino, today announced artists participating during the 2023 festival coming up March 8-12 including Tig Notaro, Pete Holmes, the Clean Comedy Showcase, D.J. Demers, Daphnique Springs, and Mike Vecchione.

Ucross has announced the launch of an open call for applications for general studio residencies and The Ford Family Foundation Fellowships. Selected Fellows will enjoy uninterrupted time and space on the nonprofit’s historic 20,000-acre ranch in Fall 2023, when Ucross will be celebrating the 40 th anniversary of its renowned artist residency program.

The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan (MMJCCM) announced the initial lineup today for its first annual Books That Changed My Life Festival, a two-month long celebration of literature and culture, featuring events inspired by or adapted from beloved literary works, including author conversations, writers workshops, weekly storytime, a gallery exhibit, musical concerts, theatrical and film events, and more.

Sparks & Wiry Cries will present a week of sparksLIVE events, from January 10 to 13, 2023 in New York, including the world premiere of Songs in Flight, co-presented by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, plus additional events at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music and Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.

From August through early December, 55 visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers and interdisciplinary artists will be at Ucross, which is located on a historic 20,000-acre ranch in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains in northern Wyoming. An independent jury comprised of artists and leaders in the field selected the fellows from nearly 400 applicants, as well as a dozen partners.

Monday evening, Ucross celebrated its longstanding partnership with the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel during a dinner attended by more than 100 participants of the International Hemingway Society Conference at Sheridan College. Kevin Powers of Fernandina Beach, Florida, a PEN/Hemingway Award-winning author and an alumnus of the Ucross artist residency program, gave the keynote address.

Returning with the best in live storytelling, The Moth Mainstage will grace Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall on Tuesday, June 14, at 7:30PM.

​​​​​​​Ucross and Cave Canem have joined forces to present a literary fellowship that provides creative support to Black poets. The 2022 Toi Derricotte Residency at Ucross has been awarded to interdisciplinary poet S. Erin Batiste of Brooklyn, New York. 

 The TEDxBroadway TEN stage is now set as organizers today revealed the final speakers rounding out the complete lineup for the milestone event being held Tuesday, May 17 at 1pm Eastern.
