Danny Sharron Biography
Danny Sharron is a NYC-Âbased director and producer with a focus on developing new work. He is founding Artistic Director of UglyRhino Productions, a Brooklyn-based company aiming to make theater a social event by integrating live music, dance parties, and drinking into the theatrical experience. He is also committed to creating work about the LGBTQ experience, and providing a platform from which the voices of that community can be heard. Danny was most recently at the Williamstown Theatre Festival as the 2016 Bill Foeller Directing Fellow, through which he developed The Model American alongside playwright Jason Kim. He also recently directed an environmental production of Taylor Macâs OKAY with UglyRhino at Bushwickâs new Central Arts. Other directing credits: Ana Gasteyer: Swing With A Handsome Woman, jason&julia by Jenny Rachel Weiner (Williamstown); The Forest of Without by Bradley Cherna (Drama League); The School Play by Frank Winters (NYU/Strasberg); What It Means To Disappear Here by Jeremy J. Kamps, #nyc by Kyle Warren, Glamdromeda by Bryce Norbitz, and Ionesco's Rhinoceros (UglyRhino). Danny is currently a 2050 Directing Fellow with New York Theatre Workshop, and has developed work with The Public Theater, Ars Nova, Ma-Yi, and The Lark. Tonight (May 17, 2022), Zachary Noah Piser, will step into the of âEvan Hansenâ on Broadway in Dear Evan Hansen, the Tony, Grammy and Oliver Award-winning musical. Piser, who has been part of the Dear Evan Hansen family since March 2019 and was most recently the âEvanâ alternate on Broadway, becomes the first Asian American actor to play the role full-time.

Dear Evan Hansen has been a long-awaited show for this reviewer and it did not disappoint. The show was inspired by the true story of Benj Pasek, the show's lyricist, who, after a high school classmate died of a drug overdose, witnessed classmates tell false stories of being part of the deceased student's life.

Ben Levi Ross was welcomed back to the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on March 22, where he re-joined the Broadway company of Dear Evan Hansen as 'Evan Hansen.' Ross made his Broadway debut as a cover in Dear Evan Hansen in 2017, and went on to star as the original Evan in the first North American Tour.
