 'The Last Survivor,' a play reading from the anthology by Tony Award-nominated director, playwright, and actress Eleanor Reissa, is set to take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Levis JCC Boca Raton and on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Alper JCC Miami.

In the published version of the Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County, playwright Tracy Letts prefaced the play with a lengthy passage from Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men. The quote was brought to his attention when it was read to the cast by the show's director on the very first day of rehearsals in 2007.

Carter W. Lewis's The Science of Leaving Omaha, a play about dashed hopes and broken dreams, resilience and resolve, receives its world premiere at Palm Beach Dramaworks on February 3 (8pm). One of the five plays featured in last season's New Year/New Plays Festival, The Science of Leaving Omaha runs through February 19, with specially priced previews on February 1 and 2 (7:30pm). On the strength of rave reviews and nightly standing ovations, Palm Beach Dramaworks is extending the run of Reginald Rose's classic Twelve Angry Men. Three performances have been added, with the possibility of more.

PBD’s twenty-third season will feature two Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks and August: Osage County by Tracy Letts; a Pulitzer Prize-finalist, 4000 Miles by Amy Herzog; the world premiere of The Science of Leaving Omaha by Carter W. Lewis; and the classic Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose. Opening night is Friday, October 14.

The New Year/New Plays Festival, one of Palm Beach Dramaworks’ most popular annual events, will take place online from February 2 - 6, with readings of five intriguing plays that are still in development.

Palm Beach Dramaworks, unable to perform onstage for audiences for 21 months due to the pandemic, begins its season of renewal on December 3 (8pm) with the world premiere of Michael McKeever’s The People Downstairs, a commissioned play that tells the story of the courageous souls who hid Anne Frank and seven others during the Holocaust.

In celebration of Pride Month, Palm Beach Dramaworks' Contemporary Voices series will shine the spotlight on playwright Michael McKeever in June. This free, online series features live readings and discussions of plays by a cross-section of some of the finest American playwrights working in theatre today.

A who’s who in the history of Palm Beach Dramaworks is set to participate in a live reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on Monday evening, December 21 at 7:30pm. In the tradition of Dickens reading his own work, this presentation will showcase PBD luminaries reading the 1843 novella, with each artist separately performing a portion of the book before handing off to the next actor.

Palm Beach Dramaworks will welcome in 2021 with its third annual New Year/New Plays Festival, which takes place online from January 6 – January 10.

Palm Beach Dramaworks will welcome philanthropist and former concert pianist Edith Hall Friedheim to its Board of Directors. Edith is the executive director of the Eric Friedheim Foundation, and a founding member of the Eric Friedheim Tourism Institute at the University of Florida.

Michael McKeever's The People Downstairs, commissioned by Palm Beach Dramaworks and scheduled to be the company's next world premiere, will be presented by The Dramaworkshop in two live, virtual readings on Wednesday, June 24, at 3pm and 7pm. Each reading will be followed by a virtual Q and A.

Jason Robert Brown's international hit The Last Five Years, a poignant and impassioned song cycle that explores the five-year relationship between a pair of twentysomething New Yorkers from heady beginning to heartbreaking end, will be staged by Palm Beach Dramaworks this summer at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 16.

The Light in the Piazza, a romantic, incandescent musical by Craig Lucas (book) and Adam Guettel (music and lyrics) about family secrets and the pursuit of happiness, opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks on Friday, April 3 at 8PM at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Winner of six 2005 Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, the show runs through April 26, with specially priced previews on April 1 and 2 (7:30PM). Bruce Linser directs.
